Aroma= light toast/roast no hops
Appearance= Dark brown to dark garnet, nice thick lt. brown head
Flavor= Well Balanced, touch of carmel sweetness moving into a mild roast and finishes with a light toast flavor...great
Palate= overall pretty light for a stout very drinkable some silkiness to start but carbonation tickles near end
OverAll= A very very good Oatmeal stout. Exceptionally balanced, complex malt overtones yet simple flavors. Great beer

"i’m grading this half way between what i’d give the bottle (better) and the can (worse). the flavor is nice, but like a Guiness, when it’s on nitro, it’s too unassuming. kinda boring, but smooth. the flavor comes out a little more in the bottle. the double chocolate, on the other hand, is better in the can...and better period."

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Typical representative of the oatmeal stout style revived by Samuel Smith in the seventies. Loose, irregular, yellowish beige head, colour near black with reddish hue, clear. Strong malty aroma, roasted grains, caramel, coffee, toasted bread, dried plums, candied dates, raisins, subtle spicy hops. Mellow, creamy and velvety palate, very soft, fruity with a gentle, not too sharp roasted bitterness, dryish but not so much as an actual dry stout, long finish with elegant spicy hoppiness, subtle.
