Golden, chestnut colour. Flour dominates the flavour. Mint finish. Not a good brew. Too unbalanced and slightly artificial.

Cask at the moon under water Watford. Light amber copper coloured pour with a lasting cream dense head. Aroma is mineral, caramel, candy sugar, berry and some seaweed. Flavour is caramel, sweet unrefined sugars, some berry and touch of spicy hop. Altogether unrememberable and bland. Palate is quite sweet, lowish cask condition. Finish has some sweet stale notes that are in compelling. Bored!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask at the Dial Arch, Woolwich. I remember drinking a lot of this back in the early 90’s and I’m sure the strength was higher. It certainly doesn’t appear as robust and flavoursome as it once was. Anyway, it pours amber with an off-white head. Aromas of toffee malt and fruit. Dark fruit and toffee flavours. Not as good as I remember it unfortunately.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear red pour, which looks really nice. Thin head, but to be expected for a cask pour. Aroma of barnyard and grain. Medium mouth. Taste is light, with biscuit and cereal. Nice light bitterness. Slightly grassy. Very easy drinking.

Cask at The Guildford. Estery for sure, almost sherbet. Behind that, some toffee malt, and light fruit and spice. Not a bad supper, and I’d have it again, if there was nothing else on.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cask at the Nightingale, Wandsworth on 13 March 2014. Poured a clear chestnut, with a dense white head. Typically sweet malty aroma, with caramel and floral hop notes. Initial flavours were biscuity malt, light grassy hop and some cereal. Finish was toffee, cake and straw. Not as good as I remember from back in its Wandsworth location...
