Cask at the Nightingale, Wandsworth on 13 March 2014. Poured a clear chestnut, with a dense white head. Typically sweet malty aroma, with caramel and floral hop notes. Initial flavours were biscuity malt, light grassy hop and some cereal. Finish was toffee, cake and straw. Not as good as I remember from back in its Wandsworth location...

On tap at the Cask and Barrel. Appearance - amber with a red hue. Nice head. Nose - honey malt and something like iron for some reason. Taste - more of the same. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly fresh finish. Overall - a solid citizen.

Pint on draft. Deep copper with a medium off-white head. Yeasty and grainy aroma. Flavour is quite sweet, uncomplicated, with a mild bitter finish. Fairly generic. Just ok.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2013 Cask at the Bedford Arms, Bedford. Honey brown. Sharp maltiness - an inviting uniqueness. refreshingly sweet, honeyed taste. A good drop, missing some ’oomph’ since it was dropped from 4.6 to 4.5% ABV.

Amber coloured ale at the Bunch of Grapes in Southwark. Depth in taste with small but lasting head. Not as strong as it used to be, but an excellent companion ! Still way superior to Young’s Ordinary.

Cask. Pours an amber colour with thin head. Aroma is fine - a bit malty, a bit sweet. A bit of caramel, some bready maltiness, slightly metallic bitterness. A bit watery. Not great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
