Handpump at the Rose and Crown Oxford. Pours a med. amber with a soapy white head. Aroma is cardboardy, earthy and malt accented. The body is med. with very low CO2 even for a cask ale. The flavor is very oxidized. I can’t say much more than that. Just oxidized and slightly hoppy. Finish is dry.

Served quite cold. Dry malty aroma. Good balance and easy drunk. Dry bitter aftertaste. A reference real ale...

Slightly spicy, hoppy bitter. Quite smooth with light bitterness, a decent beer but nothing ’special’ IMO.

Dense foam head. Aroma sweet and slightly fruity. Taste slightly sweet and acidic, reminded me a little of a good dry white wine. Very nice.

Fukito (682) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - NOV 24, 2007
Cask at The Bunch of Grapes, october 07. Clear, dark oranger color with a small white head. Slightly sulphurous, fruity notes. Very faint aroma. Hoppy, lemon with some hay flavors and very slight nutty matls notes. Decent. Medium mouthfeel, solid malt backbone and a nice dry ending. Nice comforting but a bit insipid bitter.

Cask at Charlie’s Copenhagen. Chestnut brown, rich sweet, hoppy aroma. and a full malty/sweet taste, that ends in a spicy/hoppy aftertaste

didn’t like it as a cellarman (real pain to keep well), don’t like it as a barmaid (needs a sprinkler... i know) and definitely dont like it as a pint. gotten a lot worse at wells. Too sweet to start with, like water in the middle and an akward bitter finish. badly unbalanced beer...

Cask. Reddish bronze clear ale with a healthy light cream head. Spicy grassy nose with a touch of malt. Much mature in the mouth, with more spiciness and a sold bitter hop. A solid "drinkers" bitter.
