Angenehm würzig-süßer Geruch. Herb-würziger Antrunk, der Hauptteil liegt aber auf der starken Hopfigkeit, die mit leicht biterem Ton auch im Mittelteil weitergeht. Hier stößt eine leichte Röstmalzigkeit hinzu, die aber von der bleibenden Hopfigkeit überboten wird. Im Nachgeschmack klingt diese ab und macht Platz für die leichte Würzigkeit und der anschließenden Bitterkeit.

This malty bitter makes all the ’best of’ lists and proves its worth with the great malt character and subtle carbonation. I can’t believe these guys closed after 170+ years of brewing!

Bottle. Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good / fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, fruity, moderate hoppy, grape / lemon. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. (211207)

Nice maltly backbone. Slight bitterness and some citrus. A very drinkable beer.

UPDATED: SEP 12, 2007 Sweet malt with a little hops too. Cloudy orange with small white head. Buttery sweet with pronounced pine and citrus bitterness. Sweet and resiny. Full bodied. Nice finish.

Copper pour with a medium white head and thick lacing. Malty aroma with a strong, bitter hop presence and bit of apple. Crisp hop with a sweeter malt back. Some metal and a bit watery, but decent.

Malt forward aroma suggests caramel and some toffee with notable butterscotch diacetyl and decent spicy/floral hops. Clear golden copper coloured topped by a shy white head that diminishes to ring. Fruity esters with caramel and toffee notes to the malts and decent, spicy bitterness. Medium-light body is somewhat syrupy in texture with light carbonation. Bottle (sampled Sep-06).

Good balance between malts and hops in both aroma and flavour. Amber colour. Fairly cripsp.
