Rich ruby coloured beer, almost red in bright light. Complex fruity nose with hints of candy. Luscious and full bodied, with a powerful mouth-coating flavour leading to a bittersweet, vinous finish.
Ingredients: Maris Otter pale ale malt and crystal malt with Young’s unique cane sugar mix added to the copper with Fuggle and Golding hops.

Bottle. Best before 05 SEP 07. Consumed 12-17-09. Murky brown with small lacing off-white head. Aroma is earthy with grass, citrus, sourdough, cheese, pot roast?, and caramel. Flavors of toffee, apple, orange, nutmeg, and ginger. Slightly acidic and sour. Light, coating mouthfeel with dry and bitter finish. Interesting and quite tasty. I just made my holiday a little bit funkier.

Odd off-putting smell.. somewhere between straw and bacon bits. Poured well, good head.. my taste rating is based more on the absence thereof and that it wasn’t necessarily bad.

I was a little disappointed in this one. It poured nicely , but followed up with a bready, acidic flavor.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with light reddish hue streaks and a creamy tanned head. Aroma of roasted malt, nuts, chocolate and caramel. The flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, nuts and caramel. Medium bodied and I’m getting some sourness towards the finish. Could be an old bottle which I’m more convinced as I drink this. Would like to try this again when fresh.
