Available filtered and pasteurised in 500ml bottles. Made between October and March.
Production moved from Youngs to Wells & Youngs in 2007
Rich ruby coloured beer, almost red in bright light. Complex fruity nose with hints of candy. Luscious and full bodied, with a powerful mouth-coating flavour leading to a bittersweet, vinous finish.
Ingredients: Maris Otter pale ale malt and crystal malt with Young’s unique cane sugar mix added to the copper with Fuggle and Golding hops.

500 ml bottle bought at College Liquors in Grand Junction, CO. Pours a ruby-brown color with a very large and thick cream colored head. The aroma is very light toasted malts and nutty notes. The flavor is very nice; smooth bursts of fruit, toasted malts, light nutty flavors and a rich and full mouthfeel. Very nice. I love the label and the beer. Easygoing and yet very flavorful. Great. Also, this beer is a few years old, best by September 2007, but still quite good. I’ll re-rate when I get a fresher one.

not terrible but not much of a warmer. Pretty thin - decent favor - drinkable

Hazy and dark orange amber with very fine diminishing head. Aroma is lightly roasted crystal malts and small hints of spicyness. Very light body with a light toffee and sugar sweetness that dries out in a long rather bland and dry finish. Overall little dimension for a special seasonal brew and light in body for a real warmer.

Getting my notebook online. Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown w/o much head. Candy like smells. Taste is very hoppy but not very complex. Nothing outstanding here but a decent beer with some kick.

Not as warming as one might think. A little thin but some charcoal and caramel over an english bitter. A little sweet. Good but not great.

Pours a light brown color with a big off white head. Aroma was almost non existent, nothing bad, just not much, there. Flavor was almost the same, very bland, a bit of sweet malts and a tiny hint of some sort of spice. Not too great.

bottle. Pours amber brown with smallish head. Aroma is sweet malits, bourbon? and hint of sourness. Flavor is caramel, roasted malts but not too strong. Full bodied with dry finish. Not remarkable for its type but a drinkable beer nontheless.

bottle thanks to KJ’s in Lake Dallas, TX. poured a hazy copper color with a beige head and little retention. aroma had good notes of carmel. flavor was sweet with a little bitterness. carbonation was med-high. a little more bubbly than i was expecting out of a winter warmer.
