COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Seasonal - October to Jan.
Production moved from Youngs to Wells & Youngs in October 2006. Brand acquired solely by Charles Wells in 2011.
Ingredients: Maris Otter and crystal malt with cane sugar added to the copper with Fuggle and Golding hops.
The definitive winter beer and a long-time Young’s favourite, Winter Warmer is a champion cask ale that is an essential warmer during the winter months.
"Rich ruby coloured beer, almost red in bright light. Complex fruity nose with hints of candy. Luscious and full bodied, with a powerful mouth-coating flavour leading to a bittersweet, vinous finish."

Draft: served at C4 good english hoppy but a bit weak to be a ESB, the feel is almost like butter, and it has a bit of diacityl, ok for the style.

Cask, Angel & Grayhound, Oxford. Caramel brown with a light tan head. Toffee and raisin aroma. Roast flavor, slight astringency, soft plums. Could use a bit more texture, but still a nice wintery sort of ale.

Cask, Chr. firtal, Odense: Dark brown with little off white bubbly head. low to no carbonation. Malty sweet dominants. Nuts/caramel. Though the body is thin it has a Silky smooth texture/mouthfeel. Hard to spot the hops. Enjoyable!

Pint in London@pub, cross from eurostar station. Just returning from Paris on a cold winter day it is a great and welcome brew. But on its own merits i find it rather light and delicate.

Pint served at perfect room temperature at the Lamb, London. Filmy off-white layer over a mahogany coloued body. Nice lacing on the glass. Roasted malty aroma. Taste of warming caramel malts. Moderate bitter ending. A bit watery. Half of the content was enjoyed with Fish ’n Chips (31.01.2007).

Cask @ Charlies, Copenhagen. Clear deep reddish colour with a small beige head. Malty, dark fruit sweet aroma with a light spicy note. Malty, fruity flavor with notes of anise. Light dry and sweet finish.

Dark brown with a small creamy head. Little aroma with some malt and caramel. Big sweet flavour dominated by the malt and only with a hint of bitterness at the end. And a perfect version of that creamy, silky cask mouthfeel

Cask Pretty sure this one was still Wandsworth brewed, FTR. Dark chestnut with garnet highlights; B.C. "H.". Fruity, dark malts, a few meaty esters, and some acetic acid... Mild sweet taste, quite fruity, as cherries, ending in a kind of sweetness that is peculiar to this type of beer. Muscovado? Candy. Medium bodied, quite slick, alcohol-dryness (as the "tears" on a sherry glass). Enjoying the last of the real stuff?

cask at the crows nest in crosby, liverpool... too dark a colour to call and not much aroma got through the head on the pint or maybe not too much aroma of anything, white strong head that lasted almost down the glass. quite weak in the mouth, not a great deal going on but some malt, but not much else. hints of chocolate on the finish but really nothing to get excited about

Cask at the Spread Eagle, Albert Street, Camden Town. Dark red-brown. Served too cold. Faint aroma. Rather dusty cardboard taste. Some late bitterness, but not particularly warming.
