Commercial Description:
Available filtered and pasteurised in 500ml bottles. Made between October and March.
Production moved from Youngs to Wells & Youngs in 2007
Rich ruby coloured beer, almost red in bright light. Complex fruity nose with hints of candy. Luscious and full bodied, with a powerful mouth-coating flavour leading to a bittersweet, vinous finish.
Ingredients: Maris Otter pale ale malt and crystal malt with Young's unique cane sugar mix added to the copper with Fuggle and Golding hops.

Mmm. Good stuff in that heavy duty bottle. It’s aroma is a bit nutty, maybe some malt seeps through as well. It’s a reddish colored brew, with a minor head. Flavor is great, a little sweet a little malty. Its definitely one of the best ESBs I’ve had to date. It’s rather smooth, very nice.

bottle. Pours amber brown with smallish head. Aroma is sweet malits, bourbon? and hint of sourness. Flavor is caramel, roasted malts but not too strong. Full bodied with dry finish. Not remarkable for its type but a drinkable beer nontheless.

bottle thanks to KJ’s in Lake Dallas, TX. poured a hazy copper color with a beige head and little retention. aroma had good notes of carmel. flavor was sweet with a little bitterness. carbonation was med-high. a little more bubbly than i was expecting out of a winter warmer.

Dark brown body with an almost light tan head. Aroma is a little caramel and some cane sugar. Little thin in the taste, some dark fruit along with the caramel, some roasted notes as well, drinks alright but not a turn on.
