7/VII/2012 - 33cl bottle @ Bierjutterij (Oostende) - BB: n/a (2012-700)
Clear orange beer, big creamy off-white head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: bit metallic, green banana, some yeast, all very faint. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: banana, metallic, little herbal, metallic, little bitter. Aftertaste: slightly bitter, banana, herbal, touch of chewed up bubble gum. Highly unimpressive, yet very non-offensive.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 BlackHaddock (2350) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 16, 2012
Brown 25cl bottle, best before Mar 2011, drank and reviewed mid Nov 2010. Poured into a La Chouffe stemmed tulip glass: Deep amber, dark copper body, clear and clean looking. The off-white bubbles that formed the head sank very swiftly as I stared at the beer deciding what to write. By the time I had my first sip the head had gone, leaving a thin collar only.
Malts in the aroma, freash biscuity style maltiness, nice.
Well carbonated, to much so in fact, this is a fizzy ale and quite spritzy in the mouthfeel. It has a weak body strenght behind the fizz and not a great amount of taste. There is a maltiness within, but the beer just isn’t balanced or blended well enough, it’s rough round the edges and in the middle.
Poor from start to finish apart from the initial look and the smell. This is the first beer in a Belgian beer tasting session with the wife, not a good start!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MoritzF (7756) - Bochum, GERMANY - JUN 14, 2011
(bottle, 25cl) Hazy, amber colour with a dense medium-sized and tanned blond foamy head. Yeasty, toast-malty aroma with caramel, subtle notes of lemon and spicy hops in the background. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with an almost crisp carbonation. Toast-malty, caramelly taste with subtle fruity notes; sweet-bitter toasty and slightly hoppy finish with caramel in the lasting aftertaste. I appreciate the lower abv, especially in the summer time. 14.VI.11

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Marko (3612) - Split, CROATIA - MAR 16, 2011
Bottle bought somewhere in Ieper/Ypres. Poured a slightly hazy deeper ambe colour with a big, slightly off white head that went away relatively slowly. Soft orangey malty nose ending dusty, ok. Soft, too soft light maltiness surrounded by a somewhat sweaty spicy hopiness, random aromatic spice notes. Ends oddly, burnt sugar. A light spicy/herbal Belgian ale.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Svesse (5197) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JAN 3, 2011
(Draught at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm) Hazy amber colour with creamy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of citrus, apricots, caramel, hints of yeast and spices. Malty, fruity taste with citrus, orange peel, caramel and a slightly oxidized character with a metallic, dry finish. Medium body, fairly dry. Possibly lacking some character, but a decent Flemish pale ale.
