Bottle@Stadsbrouwerij, Tongeren BE. Looking in the menu for something hoppy. Ypra looks good on paper and it doesnít disappoint. It pours hazy and has a rich nose of dried fruit and spices. Taste follows this with a nice, slightly malty, bitter. Pleasant surprise.

heavy (2120) - Split, CROATIA - JUL 22, 2011
06/05 0.33 l bottle courtesy of Marko, thanks for sharing! It poured hazy golden body with medium sized head. Fine biscuit malty aroma, somewhat spicy. Weaker flavor, generally sweet, malty, simple, thin and pretty much boring for what it is. It had nice, long and pleasant aftertaste though. An easy Belgian ale to drink anyhow.

Botted 330ml. -as Ypra Vermeulen. Courtesy of Marko (thanks!), shared with heavy and him.
Cloudy yellow/golden coloured, medium sized white head, malty and light spicy nose. Moderate malty, a bit overriped fruits and some spices with yeasty alcoholic notes. Sweetish finish.

0.33l bottle purchased in Ieper. Poured an ochre-gold body with a thick white medium sized head. Distinct peachy fresh malty nose. Sweetish malty fruity taste, light and nice! DIdnít elaborate more on that, but I reckon I liked it more than ogivlado and heavy (whom Iíve shared this with) did.

Pours a dark yellow to orange beer. Solid and creamy white head. Smells very spicy, cinamon, cloves and fruity. Almost like sweet ripe fruit. A pretty flat mouthfeeling. Tastes mainly sweet from the alcohol. Slightly roasted malts in the aftertaste, a little like coffeebitter, which is quite surprising for this blonde beer. Looks more like a gimmick beer for the city of Ypres than a real beer.

Clear medium yellow orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, moderate to heavy yeasty, soap, barnyard, leather. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20091021]

Huge, light-yellowish head, fed by well-carbonated metallic yellow to straw-coloured beer. Bit milky, veggie aroma, slightly sickly, vanillated coffee milk. Same strange lactic flavour, spiced, starting with a bitter streak, then turning more sweet - lactose? Also, again some cooked vegetables or cooked corn. Medium bodied, quite slick, spritzy MF. Itís obviously a sought flavour, but I cannot particulary like it.
