A bartender recommendation while waiting for the Last Post at the Menin Gate. Sort of hoppy and yeasty with a bitter hops finish. Not bad.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 JorisPPattyn (7306) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - DEC 21, 2009
Huge, light-yellowish head, fed by well-carbonated metallic yellow to straw-coloured beer. Bit milky, veggie aroma, slightly sickly, vanillated coffee milk. Same strange lactic flavour, spiced, starting with a bitter streak, then turning more sweet - lactose? Also, again some cooked vegetables or cooked corn. Medium bodied, quite slick, spritzy MF. It’s obviously a sought flavour, but I cannot particulary like it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 sayravai (4655) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 11, 2009
(Bottled) Clear golden with a medium, bubbly-foamy head. Aroma is very mild at first, but pretty soon I found sweetish maltiness with a nice fruity twist. Flavor is neutral-malty with some orangey fruitiness, and mild spiciness. Medium body with high and foamy, but smooth carbonation. A smooth and drinkable ale with just enough oomph to keep it interesting.
