COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Idiosynkrasie (4081) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - OCT 16, 2014
330ml bottle. Hazy, dark copperish brown colour with late awakening, very small, micropore, half-way lasting and lacing, off-white head - a thin layer remains throughout. Alcoholic and fruity aroma has notes of dried fruit, raisins, alcohol-soaked fruit, marzipan. Taste is minimally to moderately sweet, hints of sweet bread, marzipan and toffee, some alcohol, some dried fruit, hints of orange; dry, slightly undefinable counterweight takes away parts of the sweetness, viscid palate. Despite the non-neglectable presence of alcohol drinkable in a way; quite unique mouthfeel, not really chewy, but endowed with soft resistance, bite-able.

In short: A sweet, fruity and vinous Abt. Slightly below average for the style.
How: Tap at Irreal, Madrid.
The look: Cloudy burgundy body topped by a very small beige head leaving lots of lacings on the glass.
In long: Nose is rich maltiness with fruity undertones. In mouth the beer has a thick velvety texture with a relaxed carbonation. Comfortable mouthfeel even if atypical for an Abt. Taste has juicy dark and red grapes, rich toffee, port wine, some other red fruits. Not much of the usual Abt raisins here. High sweetness sensation but alcohol is mostly well hidden. Tased like a cross between an Abt and a Scotch Ale. Decent sipper but not very good Abt, a style where competition is strong. My 6000th rating!!!! Bravo Me!!! Hard to believe that when I joined ratebeer I was just a heavy drinker with no avatar and I had poor taste in beer, and now I have an avatar.

Bottle. Thanks Teddybeer. Pours clear deep amber with a creamy off white/khaki head. The aroma is ripe fruity with notes of toasted malt, caramel and light hops. The flavor is spicy yeasty with malty and fruity notes. Sweet toasted finish.

Aroma a caramelo sobre todo. En boca se manifiesta el aroma y se añaden especias. Final con toque amargo que la hace diferente. Rica.

Opaque dark ruby, dark brown with small off-white lacing foam ring. Aroma is light fruity, banana, advocado, lots of alcohol. Tastes bit sweet, some coffee notes, again strong beer. (Madrid 201402)
