A good porter - although a little thin for the style I think. Still very drinkable

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2007 Updating: I think I was too overly impressed with this previously. Its not in the same league as, say, Anchor Porter, regardless of my prev 4.6 rating. It does have a nice roasted character, but a tinge of harshness and its also a bit on the thin side. Bottom-fermenting yeast give it an unusual cleanness for the style.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2003 ReRate 5/03: Has an odd, sort of swampy smell. The texture is a bit oily and the flavor is kind of woody (or nutty). But having said that, it is really a decent beer. I guess the sum is greater than the parts.

I can never decide between the lager and the porter as my favorite Yuengling brew. Wish I could get it in NY.

Great beer. good dark color, actually refreshing for a porter. Best porter i have had.

So-so, average porter that is actually fermented with lager yeast. Relatively drinkable and light.

I found this a good porter, but a bit light and reserved overall. Mild roasted malt aroma and flavor with some reserved chocolate/coffee undercurrents; finishes a bit light and quick.

Burnt & robust with a supermodel body - not too much though; just enough to keep you coming for more. Mellow and relaxing. I love that roasted flavor.

A nice, clean porter with chocolatey overtones - by far Yuengling’s best beer.
