4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 grundsow (17) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 4, 2012This is Yuengling’s best kept secret! A rich, roasted, full-flavored brew at a very reasonable price. I can’t believe they don’t charge more for this. If you don’t associate Yuengling with craft brews, try this.

A good solid porter. Dark in color and malty in both aroma and taste. One of my go to beers.

Thanks to Sean. Really this tasted more like a dark lager. Not very robust for a porter/dunkel whatever it is but rather in the thirst quenching vain. Not great but I liked it. Minerally flavor too. Serving: Bottle

Ok; not great. It's got the roasted malts but it's still kind of a "porter light".

Bottle: "That’s not a porter . . . this is a porter" - I wanted to say that in reverse after having this. Lame. Brown with a small tan ring head. Malty aroma with a lager flavor. This is really just a premium dark lager. Disappointing for a porter, good for a lager.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 monk191 (366) - California, USA - MAR 17, 2013
A decent, but a little boring porter. Pours a nice dark black with a tan head. Smells a little nutty. Taste is hoppy for a porter. Somewhat like a Black and Tan.

Pours brown with a medium tan head. Aroma has light roastiness and caramel...just a touch of nuttiness. Flavor has light chocolate and caramel...roasty...a bit tame. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is roasty/burnt/nutty.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 bluejacket74 (992) - Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA - FEB 22, 2013
12 ounce bottle, one of my friends gave me a bottle to try. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a half inch tan head that didn’t stay around for too long. There isn’t much lacing, either. The brew smells like roasted malt, caramel, bittersweet chocolate and some grain. It tastes like roasted and grainy malt, and some light coffee, chocolate, and dark fruit. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it’s a little bit slick with good carbonation. It’s not exactly a robust porter, but it is smooth and easy to drink. For the price, it’s a decent, drinkable brew. If you’re looking for a porter that’s very easy to drink, this is a good pick.

Tap at the Cleveland airport. Deep murky brown pour with a tan head. Palate is a bit thin. Light roasted malts, but nothing bold here. Pretty much what I expected. Beer for the masses.
