2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: JUN 10, 2005 The nose is a milder version of the grassy, earthen nose on the Lager. The tone is lightly golden with a decent white head that is a bit fizzy but actually laces a bit. Well, the tastes are very mild and the mouthfeel watery, but this beer is not much of a dropoff from its big brother, which is at least an average beer. There are none of the Lagerís acidic or syrupy drawbacks present in this one, and the very mild taste is at least pleasant and drinkable. Really, this is a top-of-the-line light beer, and considering Sam Adams Light has 130 caleries, this might be the best of the true light beers in America.

Tastes like their original lager, except watered down. Not bad for a light beer, but thatís not saying much. Weak aromas with a large dose of sweet corn flavor. Had on draft, maybe the bottled is better.

Why bother with a light other than economic nessisity. This one is not as bad as others but if you want water in your beer just add it yourself

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Light copper appearance - impressed - expected dark yellow - light , thin and quickly dissipating white head. Aroma of cinnamon, pepper and a faint wort-like esence. Flavor has some fresh lake water accents with a very faint trace of nuttiness that turns to metallic blandness. Aftertaste is a bit metalic and the mouthfeel is slighlty thin. Not the best effort from Yuengling.

Bottled. This isnít at all bad for a light beer - way more similar to its parent beer than Miller Lite or Bud Light - the heavier flavor and mouthfeel is still there, albeit a little watered down.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Thin head. Decent carbonation. Nasty aroma. Stale water, weak malts and a bit of hops. Color is a medium golden orange. Good color for a light beer. Flavor is not good. Corn, bit of malts and a slight bit of dough at the end. Finish is dry and slightly bitter. I guess it is decnt for a light beer.

1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
Weak hoppy, rubbery aroma. No malt.Medium dark amber cleae with thin white head. Light watery body with medium-high head. Starts with little sweetness and general chemical acidity. Weak and watery, with no malt taste and very little hops. Odd fake dryness to finish and no after. Wasnít expecting much, and this met my expectations.

The US light beer market is overpopulated with poor beers. This one, along with Sam Adams is an exception. Crisp taste, pale in color, this is a pleasant light alternative.
