1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
I had some hope for this one but alas it severely disappointed. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark amber color with a large white head. The aroma was sour and tangy malts - almost skunky. The flavor was sour, tangy, corny and a bit skunky. There was a long off aftertaste.

Wow. Not sure what the point of this beer is. At least the Presidente light I had before this had a bit of flavor, even if it was of metal. This is slightly tinny water. Had in a can. Shocked by how bad this was.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
12 oz. bottle for $0.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a clear, gold body topped with an inch of white foam. Slight, but steady effervescence.
Smell: Nose of steeped grain husks with an incredibly faint note of caramel.
Taste: Minor pale maltiness with a hint of grain and a very light malt sweetness. Touch of spicy hops and bitterness. Finishes clean and crisp.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium-high carbonation.
Drinkability: It’s OK for a light lager.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
This might have been the best light beer I have had. It had a bit of caramel color with a nice thick whitish head that had nice retention and added a creamy feel to the beer. Flavor was definitely "light beer-ish." Not a lot going on but still more and better than many pale lagers that are not "light."

1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Not much here. The aroma is very weak with only a light sweet malty smell and somewhat stinky. The appearance is copper golden but hurt by the fizzy head that reminds me of soda pop. The flavor is not that great either. Some malt but mostly dominated by corn. Palate is thin. Overall this is not very good.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
12oz bottle. Perfectly clear yellow color, minimal white head. An unpleasant slightly skunky nose-smell. Aroma is very watered down, a hint of white bread under there. Carbonation is sharp, but not actually overwhelming. Light body. There might be some other grains in here, perhaps rye. Taste is hardly there at all, maybe a bit savory, just mostly water. Nothing good nor bad about it. This light lager is what it is... Better than most other light lagers I’ve had

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
The regular Yuengling does not have a whole hell of a lot going on, so the light has even less. Has the taste of rice and corn all over it with tasteless reminders of the chemical processes that make a light lager.

2.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz, twist-off, brown bottle. Pours clear amber color, white foamy head. Corn meal aroma and some grains. Grain-water flavor. No sweetness, no bitterness. Lots of water. Only 98 calories, 8.5g of carbs, .82g of protien, .01g of fat. Where’s all the fat grams come from? Lack of flavor = lack of protien and carbs, it’s all on the label! Finish is tastes like chewing on a straw of a wheat stalk, and water.

Bottle. Better light beer than most of the other beers out there. Nothing special to note about it. Would rather drink Yuengling regular instead.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: MAR 28, 2009 Ok, I’m drinken one now. The first time I drank it, I thought it a bit strange. A little teeny bit dishwatery. But now it is not too bad. Needs a little more carbonation. Not bitter, per se. Is a ’little’ darker than most american pale yellow beers! Got this one off my daughter. Her boyfriend likes plain ol’ yuengling.
