2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle->SA. Golden color with white head. Aroma has grains over hops. Tastes of a meadow and grains. Eh.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Draft at Cincinnati Blues Fest on August 10, 2012. Dark gold hue, pungent aroma, watery intial mouthfeel, then brief sweetness folowed by musty bitterness and astringency. Something of a mess, worse than when I had it from its infamous green bottle a few years back.

Yuengling Traditional Lager is a staple of mine when i want something simple, and when I saw their Chesterfield was available in lower Ohio, I had to snag some. Probably a bad idea. Part of the problem was the dusty green bottles, which, upon opening, revealed a very skunked beer. So, obviously, for aroma, this thing was rough on the nose. Hopefully Iíll be able to get it on tap or fresher sometime so I can get a better idea of what this thing is supposed to smell like. Appearance-wise, the beer pours a straw yellow with a white head that doesnít stick around for long. The flavor is...underwhelming. Little bit of malt on the tip of the tongue, but the hops come in pretty fast, though the hop presence is not strong, it simply overcomes the light flavor of the malts. Fairly thin in the mouth as well.
Disappointing overall. Their traditional lager is a fin, if unassuming, brew, but this one is not worth the cost.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma is bready malts and lemons/hops. The flavor is citrus/lemon, malts and a hoppy finish. Not really skunky, was a decent golden ale.

2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
is this how it is supposed to smell? It smells skunky right out of the bottle... but also oddly like it has chocolate... tastes better than it smells though

1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle. Slightly sweet aroma and flavor. Lacks the characteristic hoppy base of Yuengling Draft. Not satisfying. If I grabbed one of these out of the cooler again after a hockey game, Iíd throw it back.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A nice sessionable pale ale. Nice hop aroma and taste. A little bitterness in the mouth lingers. This beer deserves a higher rating than the 12 it currently has.

1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
355mL. Pours clear, deeper yellow to light amber. Medium to weak, soapy white head. Okay to poor retention. Spots of soapy lacing. Nose is not bad at all- some biscuit, bread, dough, toffee, fruity pineapple, sharp lemon. Taste is actually a bit hoppy up front, but very soapy and chemical in the long finish. Body is lighter with mild toffee and biscuit maltiness to near zero. Feels very soapy. Sharp, aggressive, chemical aftertaste. Ick.

Draft: finally had this one on draft since the only bottle I have ever had weíre always skunked. This is ok if itís fresh, and isnít skunky. Itís sweet and refreshing, but a little boring.
