This beer is a clear copper-amber color with a medium thin white head that dissipates quickly to a wispy film. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of malt, caramel and hops. Light-bodied with flavors of toasted malt, caramel and mild hops. The finish is sweet with a short malty aftertaste. Pretty much exactly what you would expect a Yuengling Oktoberfest to be. Average overall.

Amber with yellowing white head, thin and somewhat fine. Aroma of light caramel and wheat bread. Slightly sour grass. salt. Body is medium-light, a tad bit syrupy. Medium, unobtrusive carbonation. Flavor is lightly metallic bit of caramel, herbal grass. hint of soap. A refreshing, light example of octoberfest.

12oz bottle. Pours a deep amber color with a thin white head. Aroma of caramel malt, and slightly nutty. The taste is on the sweet side with caramel, and a slightly burnt aftertaste.

Draft at Oktoberfest ZInzinnati on September 22, 2012. Amber/red/pink (yes, pink) hue, small head, aroma that’s equal parts pale lager and toasted malt, flavor that’s a cross between Yuengling Traditional Lager and a standard marzen with a bit of astringency. Somewhat strange but drinkable.

On draught at the Pour House in Mountain Home, PA. Pours a lovely coppery gold with a thin-moderate linen white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass. The aroma is mild corn with some malt. I don’t notice the corn in the flavor although there is a bit of sweetness here beyond what is being provided by the malt. Very mild bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied.

12oz bottle. Fitlered dull copper-orange. Thin off-white head. Sweet, tastes of corn or other adjuncts, in addition to some bland malt. Pretty shabby offering, the corn sweetness doesn’t fit the style at all. Just barely drinkable, certainly cheap and sub-par.

Picked up 12 of these and have been trying to get a decent fix on this beer. Had to let it warm up a bit to get some flavor. Watery when too cold. Amber color.minimal head no lacing. Slight carmel and toffee notes as with a typical marzen. Grainy bite to it not terrible just not a whole lot going on. Would prob pick up a 6 pack every year for the heck of it I dunno the marzens I had this year underwhelmed me. Marzens have never been my favorite but did enjoy better last year.

Do my eyes deceive me? Does that say "Yuengling Oktoberfest?!" Um, yes, please! 12oz bottle poured into a conical pint. Pours a tawny dark rusty amber with a small sheet of lace atop. The nose is fruity with notes of banana, stawberry - though faint at that. Toffee and caramel sweet aromas round this out, with a touch of ethanol. A different aroma, but not offputting. Smooth clean mouthfeel, that begs to be gulped. Spot-on carbonation gives the beer enough girth to satisfy me. Sweet caramel and toffee flavors, light fruity back end. Bready finish. Alcohol adds just enough zip to bolster this beer. A total malt-heads dream. Really a good beer. I expected to find some major flaws in this, but I couldn’t really find any. A well-made beer, perfect for the cooler months ahead.
