On draught at the Pour House in Mountain Home, PA. Pours a lovely coppery gold with a thin-moderate linen white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass. The aroma is mild corn with some malt. I don’t notice the corn in the flavor although there is a bit of sweetness here beyond what is being provided by the malt. Very mild bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied.

Bottle. Pours amber with a thin off-white head. Light malty aroma with grains, bread and caramel. Flavor was toasted malts, grains, bread, corn and light caramel.

12oz bottle. Fitlered dull copper-orange. Thin off-white head. Sweet, tastes of corn or other adjuncts, in addition to some bland malt. Pretty shabby offering, the corn sweetness doesn’t fit the style at all. Just barely drinkable, certainly cheap and sub-par.

Picked up 12 of these and have been trying to get a decent fix on this beer. Had to let it warm up a bit to get some flavor. Watery when too cold. Amber color.minimal head no lacing. Slight carmel and toffee notes as with a typical marzen. Grainy bite to it not terrible just not a whole lot going on. Would prob pick up a 6 pack every year for the heck of it I dunno the marzens I had this year underwhelmed me. Marzens have never been my favorite but did enjoy better last year.

Do my eyes deceive me? Does that say "Yuengling Oktoberfest?!" Um, yes, please! 12oz bottle poured into a conical pint. Pours a tawny dark rusty amber with a small sheet of lace atop. The nose is fruity with notes of banana, stawberry - though faint at that. Toffee and caramel sweet aromas round this out, with a touch of ethanol. A different aroma, but not offputting. Smooth clean mouthfeel, that begs to be gulped. Spot-on carbonation gives the beer enough girth to satisfy me. Sweet caramel and toffee flavors, light fruity back end. Bready finish. Alcohol adds just enough zip to bolster this beer. A total malt-heads dream. Really a good beer. I expected to find some major flaws in this, but I couldn’t really find any. A well-made beer, perfect for the cooler months ahead.

From a twist off bottle. I like most yueng beers so I wanted to try this although I am not a big fan of most fest beers. Looks like octoberfest, iced tea color and all. First taste does have some of that fest attitude but what comes across first is this mild slight wild sour thing. Yes, its there all right. Does have some bitterness to it which builds thru the session. Pretty good sizzle along withthe tartness makes this fest somewhat interesting. A little more mild than most fest beers I’ve tasted. Could probably drink a few of these, not bad overall. I just can’t get used to that weird bitter finish it has which develops after each gulp. Can’t say much about the aroma except that it is there and not unpleasant. Not quite as good as Climax Hoffmann Oktoberfest, Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest Märzen, Sprague Farm Spraguer Logger or Schell Octoberfest but does score some points with that tartness in there.

Pours a clear medium coppery amber hue with a slowly fading beige head. Aroma and Taste of toasted barley, grains, caramel malt, some yeast and light fruity notes. Palate is a medium body with moderate carbonation. Finishes with a toasted barley and grains, yeast some caramel flavor and some light fruity notes ending has a bit of nutty flavor. Overall a descent drinking brew.

Single bottle from ABC. Light amber pour with a small white head. Aroma of caramel, roasted malt, a little alcohol astringency. Taste is very malty - no hops, but also not much of the caramel sweetness expected from the aroma. Dry finish. Just tastes like a maltier version of the regular lager.

My Bottom Line :
Shy, spicy hops are suggested within mildly toasted and caramelized cereals for a clean, perfectly serviceable lager.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A sheet of foam covers the clear copper.
-The hop spiciness and malt toastiness combine for interesting pumpkin seed allusions.
-Drinkability is very high.
-The dry, wooden finish is forgettable.

Bottle. Thx Steve!
