4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Do my eyes deceive me? Does that say "Yuengling Oktoberfest?!" Um, yes, please!
12oz bottle poured into a conical pint. Pours a tawny dark rusty amber with a small sheet of lace atop. The nose is fruity with notes of banana, stawberry - though faint at that. Toffee and caramel sweet aromas round this out, with a touch of ethanol. A different aroma, but not offputting.
Smooth clean mouthfeel, that begs to be gulped. Spot-on carbonation gives the beer enough girth to satisfy me. Sweet caramel and toffee flavors, light fruity back end. Bready finish. Alcohol adds just enough zip to bolster this beer. A total malt-heads dream. Really a good beer. I expected to find some major flaws in this, but I couldn’t really find any. A well-made beer, perfect for the cooler months ahead.

OK brew for an American take on an oktoberfest marzen but just lacking the quality of the European counterparts.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass.
Aroma- Nice malt and hop aroma
Appearance- Traditional color and minimal head
Taste- more of a Vienna style not bad but there are better out there
Palate- Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall- Ok brew, I prefer their lager but this isn’t terrible

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
It pours from the bottle with a nice, rich, red-brown color, although there is only a thin soapy head. The aroma is a faint combination of toasted bread and light, lemony hops. The flavor is definitely malt-forward as is to be expected, with notes of caramel and bread dominating, although there is also some musty and lemony hops to balance. The texture is a bit unpleasantly watery, with a fine, prickly carbonation.
Admittedly, this isn’t my favorite style, and this one certainly isn’t going to change my perspective, but it is similar to many other Yuengling products: solid and inoffensive, but a bit boring and unexciting.

Pretty high on the foul content. Rusty aroma with a good dose of acridity. Pours amber with ok head and lacing. Fizzy carbonation. Bottle.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours a deep amber, verging on being brown, with a fairly thick, off-white head. The aroma is of caramel malts, burnt toast and ripe bananas. The taste is of very sweet caramel malt with some burnt notes too. To me, the malt is too dark and it has too much of a caramel sweetness. I would have preferred a slightly lighter Vienna-style lager.

Everybody doesn’t know how to make a good Oktoberfest brew. Yuengling is one of those that doesn’t.

Bottle pour @ the 21st Richmond Gathering. Light amber with a small head. Some cardboard and apples. Caramel. Knackered malts. Taste is pretty rough. Sickly apple. Spent grain. Junk bread. Sort of harsh toastiness. Just tastes artificial and past its best. Light body, very active carbonation. Not good.
