Clear, bright copper with a creamy tan head. Aroma is breadheel and caramel. Toasty flavor..grain...a little nut. Mild, a little bland, but ok.

Pours deep gold into a shaker. Off-white soapy head recedes leaving gloppy lacing. Butterscotch and caramel aromas. Astringent with sweet caramel front to back. Mild fest finish.

Nose is like a slightly-stronger version of Traditional Lager. Smells like America. Taste is fairly malty with a touch of bread.

12 oz bottle from my pops on opening Sunday. Poured originally with lots of large clinging bubbles inside a burnt orange body with a larger rather foamy light beige head. Aroma started off all cereal grains, dust and brown bread with some warming some spice and melted toffee emerge along with a slight touch of alcohol. The carbonation is a tad strong for such a watery medium mouthfeel and finishes bready. Flavor is a bit better then the original aroma, wet bread, dough, malts, perhaps a touch of toffee. Meh with some warmth it becomes drinkable.

Mild grass, dried leaves. Crystal clear amber, thin head. Honey, malt, some fusel alcohol. Frothy. Meh.

Lightly sweet, toasted malt aroma. Embossed brown bottle, clear, intense burnt orange beer with a light white head. Nicely bitter, nutty sweetness, toasty. The body is a bit flabby/starchy - without the crispness desired. Some overbrewed, metallic hop notes in the finish. Overall, probably a good value if you’re looking for a marzen. ABC Liquors, Bull Run.

From a twist off bottle. I like most yueng beers so I wanted to try this although I am not a big fan of most fest beers. Looks like octoberfest, iced tea color and all. First taste does have some of that fest attitude but what comes across first is this mild slight wild sour thing. Yes, its there all right. Does have some bitterness to it which builds thru the session. Pretty good sizzle along withthe tartness makes this fest somewhat interesting. A little more mild than most fest beers I’ve tasted. Could probably drink a few of these, not bad overall. I just can’t get used to that weird bitter finish it has which develops after each gulp. Can’t say much about the aroma except that it is there and not unpleasant. Not quite as good as Climax Hoffmann Oktoberfest, Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest Märzen, Sprague Farm Spraguer Logger or Schell Octoberfest but does score some points with that tartness in there.

16 ounce pint - Taco Mac in Canton, Georgia.

Appearance: Dark amber-hued body, good clarity, and capped beneath a slim, white head.

Smell: Sweetish scent, fairly tame, with light notes of toasted grains and caramel flavoring.

Taste: Crisped grains with some toasty elements to it and a light hint of caramel flavoring. Faint, vaguely herbal hops, mildly bitter. Sweetish, faintly grainy finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation with some tingle to it.

Overall: The caramel taste here, it’s... it’s just odd, and, maybe it’s just me, but it seemed to have a falseness to it, like the added flavoring to that Saranac Caramel Porter. It’s not an abhorrent beer, but it sure doesn’t stack up against the better examples of the style (or even the not-so-better ones).

Bottle. Pours clear dark copper with fizzy off-white head. Aroma is cereal and caramel malts, light fig, faint earthy notes, and some toast. Flavor is sweet bready malts, dark fruit esters, faint hops, and light corn; dry finish. Light/medium body and medium carbonation.

New Beer Distributors, NY 355ml ($2): Pours an amber color with a whitish head. Aroma is caramel malt and metallic lager. Taste is slightly sweet. Slightly watery. Tastes similar to the Traditional Lager, but with perhaps some more malt. That being said, it tastes more or less like an Oktoberfest should be tasting.
