3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle from my pops on opening Sunday. Poured originally with lots of large clinging bubbles inside a burnt orange body with a larger rather foamy light beige head. Aroma started off all cereal grains, dust and brown bread with some warming some spice and melted toffee emerge along with a slight touch of alcohol. The carbonation is a tad strong for such a watery medium mouthfeel and finishes bready. Flavor is a bit better then the original aroma, wet bread, dough, malts, perhaps a touch of toffee. Meh with some warmth it becomes drinkable.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Shared with kristen down at the beach. Pours a clear amber copper with fair off white head that fades quickly. Caramel and toastiness, but also a distinct metallic twinge that took away from the overall experience. Sam adams octoberfest this is not. But not aweful.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
On tap at the Coney. Muted malt aroma, with some decent hop character. light sweet and light acidic notes. Copper-amber clear with thin head that dissipated quickly. Medium bodied with medium-high carbonation. Starts lightly sweet, with nice toasted malt character and a bit of caramel. Some diacetyl and fruity notes, too. Nutty but nonastringent finish, medium bitter hops. Dry nutty after.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz. Clear shiny copper with a lasting quarter inch of foam. Nose is sour-sweet dry grass and earthy, toasted grain. Taste is the same as the aromas with some corn and mildly tart apple thrown in, and toasted nut on the dryish finish. A hint of a metallic note in the long finish. Mouthfeel is a bit light. Malty as per the style, but fairly balanced. Smooth, average level of carbonation.

Amber color out of the bottle with a nice foamy beige head. Sweet malty nose. Sweet beer with lots of caramel sweetness, some toasted grains and an odd acidity to it. Long metallic hop finish. Okay beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draught at the Pour House in Mountain Home, PA. Pours a lovely coppery gold with a thin-moderate linen white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass. The aroma is mild corn with some malt. I don’t notice the corn in the flavor although there is a bit of sweetness here beyond what is being provided by the malt. Very mild bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied.

Draft at Quaker Steak. Pours brown with an inch of white foam. A bit of toasty malt on the nose. Nice smooth mouthfeel. A bit more malt on the tongue. Clean finisher. Good to see Yuengling expanding to new styles.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
New Beer Distributors, NY 355ml ($2): Pours an amber color with a whitish head. Aroma is caramel malt and metallic lager. Taste is slightly sweet. Slightly watery. Tastes similar to the Traditional Lager, but with perhaps some more malt. That being said, it tastes more or less like an Oktoberfest should be tasting.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Making this one official with the 10th rating. A nice caramel orange color. Off white foam, everything seems to be in order. The aroma is nicely toasted malts, some caramels, a bit of grassiness, still nice. The taste is a bready malt, slight sweetness, a nice drying hop bite with a bit of toasty malt mixed in. I don’t know if it was the pipe of Ashton Consumate Gentleman with it, but this beer hit the spot. I would like to see this in bottles but I slightly hesitate on that because I remember the draft Bock being better than the bottled Bock released the next year.

Bottle at Tank’s with Moose. Honestly, not a bad festbier at a all. Maybe a little heavier body than is typical but pretty tasty. Not a bad choice.
