Light clear amber, slight head. Slightly wet cardboard aroma. Flavor very, very lightly of toaty malt. Not an utter disaster, but not exactly good either. Very light bodied.

12 oz bottle pour amber with a thin off white head. Aroma of malt and grain. Taste is the malt a hint of sweetness and spice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear dark amber...like maple syrup...with a medium tan head. Aroma is a bit muddled between dry leaves and a skunky/cheap hoppiness...kind of smells like chemical and vomit. Flavor recovers a bit with light caramel and dry leaves...light earthy bitterness. Mouthfeel medium/full with a dry, earthy finish.

Bottle.Toasty caramel malt aroma. Clear amber with a large beige head. Slightly charred toast and caramel malt flavor with an herbal bitter finish. Light body, moderate carbonation.

2012 Flour City Brewers’ Fest. Poured dark amber with off-white head. Aroma is toffee sweetness, roasty malt, and cereal. Taste brings out some grassy hops. Body is pretty light yet creamy. Maybe not the best marzen but pretty good for a macro.

On draught at the Pour House in Mountain Home, PA. Pours a lovely coppery gold with a thin-moderate linen white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass. The aroma is mild corn with some malt. I don’t notice the corn in the flavor although there is a bit of sweetness here beyond what is being provided by the malt. Very mild bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied.

Bottle at inlaws. Pours orange with fine enough head. Light nose of caramel and hop. Tastes of caramel, bread, metal, earth, and some hopping. Watery palate.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Wegmans Leesburg. It pours a nice copper color with a decent off white head. It has a slightly metallic aroma with a slight breadiness. The flavor has stale earthy notes with bit of fresh mushroom, bread, and club soda. Thin, watery body with a bit too much carbonation. Not a very good interpretation of the style.

A boring Oktoberfest beer. Even more so as it is released in August. Anyhow, this is a decent macrobrewer attempt at the style. Aroma was alright. Classic lager aromas with notes of caramel and roasted malt. Pour was a nice light dark brown with a one finger off white head. Taste was weak and thin, but refreshing. Roasted malt and caramel are the big flavors, but don’t really stand out. Decent carbonation and a quick finish. Not much lingering after the swallow. Will try again in the fall when this beer should be consumed.
