Not too shabby. Everything you’d expect from an oktoberfest, and reasonably priced. A little bland and thin, but a nice aroma, with a little spice. Not the best example of the style, but a fair one, and not my favorite Yuengling beer, but it is tasty. Light maltiness and a bit of yeast is apparent, which I love. Maybe some nondescript nuts, perhaps hazelnuts. I’ll probably spring for another sixer or two of this $6.99 seasonal before it is gone, which means I think fairly highly of it. Still thankful that Yuengling began distributing in Ohio, and that we have begun to get their seasonals and lower-volume sellers. Yum! *edit* Good call by Berkshirejohn to say this is almost like a brown ale, because it is!

This beer smelled sweet, malty and delicious. The flavor was... saddening. Too much of a stale hop presence among a not-so-balanced malty profile. It went down smooth, but the after taste only got worse. Not a great example of a great style at all.

>> Thank you Griffin for the beer! Pours a clear amber with a weaker grayish head. Weak, spotty lace. Brown sugar nose with sweet honey bread. Taste is soap and dish water. Heavy mouthfeel of old walnut and bread crust. Soapy, suddy hydrogen peroxide finish. Very unpleasant, but somehow it was consumed without complaint. Quite poor for this style.

Draft at Milkboy. Clear medium-light copper pour with a nice frothy white head. Pretty much tastes like a standard Yuengling with maybe a bit more malt presence. Nothing to write home about but worth a try.

Clear copper color with aroma of caramel and toasted malt. Caramel and toasted malt flavor. Not great. Not bad.

Underdogs88 (100) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 7, 2014
Light toasted clean aroma. Dark orange appearance with a white head with below average head retention. A little too much toast in the flavor. Bitterness is high and the finish is dry. Mouthfeel is medium light with medium carbonation and a metallic astringency. Overall, the recipe needs to be reformulated. The toasted notes are too intense. The body is too light, bitterness is too high and it contains an unpleasant metallic that lasts on the end. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear amber color with a thin tan head. Malty, sweet aroma. The taste was a roasted malt with a slightly sweet caramel flavor that finished a little bitter. Really good beer.

Pours a soft orange copper color with a slight tan head of foam that fell to a ring and film on top. Good clarity and honey golden hues. Nose has a lot of caramel on it. Some faint toasty bread and a good grain scent. A bit of popcorn. No hops until a small sweet grass comes up as ti warms. Taste is smooth and rich. The grain is lovely and seems like it has melted into the caramel which is dominant on the palate. It has a good amount of sweetness and a bit of fry crisp malt to withstand that. It does drink a bit breaddy and with a touch of lemon in the finish and sweet grass and slight underlying hop bitter. It’s good but very sweet and has a bit of buttery slickness int he mouthfeel and a touch fo butterscotch in the flavor.

Bottle at Seth's. Malt nose and not much else. Medium body and some caramel hints but not strong. Smooth but cheap tasting.
