2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Thanks to my parents for bringing this back from the States. Pours a brown colour with a frothy beige head and a little lacing. Roasted malt scent with some notes of dark fruits and other fruity yeast. The taste is milder with the dark fruits, burnt malts and yeast. Mild bitterness in the finish. A decent macro brew that mixes a porter and a premium lager.

Rated based on notes taken on 22 Feb 2012 -- A good flavorful easy drinking beer that’s got more flavor than normal Yuengling.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark, smooth, balanced porter. Roasted character with a bit of sweetness. Limited flavor however subtracts a few points for me. It is quite smooth. Nice.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a small off-white head that fades completely. Light malt aroma, hint of toast and dark chocolate. Taste is yeasty, with bread, sugar, and ends with some burnt toast bitterness. Lingering light toast that ends watery. Not bad.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
16oz can. Pours dark brown with a huge fluffy head. Aroma is caramel malts, burnt and a little metal. Taste follows suit--much more like a Vienna than a porter. Goes down easy and refreshing. It’s cheap enough and looks good in the glass, but just isn’t impressive by any measure.

Six pack of 12-oz bottles in southern Tennessee. Medium bodied and rich smooth taste. Very satisfying. It's a shame we can't get this at home in Texas.

Pours deep mahogany into a shaker. Tan head with medium retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Caramel aromas. Sweet caramel and sour cardboard upfront turning to dry, smoky chocolate in the medium length finish.
