The taste is like guinness light. Not that there is Guinness light, but this would be it. bubbleflubber (903), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 17, 2006 Pours dark coffee into the glass... but deep darks hues, not opaque. Creamy tan suds retain the head nicely into decent spider lacing. Aromas of cherry (and a hint of birch?). Flavor of a decent porter (coffee overtones) with a slight dry bite toward the end of the pull, at the back palate. The mouthfeel is creamy, but not in a watery way. I think the porter and lager blend actually works well for this macro micro. I’d certainly drink it again; there’s nothing offensive about, and it goes down smoothly. kreepindeth (405), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Mar 15, 2006 The best thing about this beer is the velvety, almost tickling moutfeel. Even better than the porter, the lager balances out the flavors well. Can someone explain to me how this is 5.2% ABV when the porter is 5 and the lager is 4.9? bobaidan (370), Farmington, Connecticut, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 12, 2006 Pours black with a big tan head. Aroma is mild and malty. Start is a mild creamy taste with a little hoppy-ness going on about midway through, which gradually dissipates with a very smooth finish. The finish is smooth. What really makes this beer is its palate--a fine mixture between low carbonation and heaviness. A ood drinking beer. festus735 (8), Tomahawk, Wisconsin, USA does not count | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 8, 2006 This was a nice suprise. Well, this is a mix of their porter and their premium beer, I think 50/50. If I were D.G. Yueng, I would probably alter the formula slightly and make it 100% lager. Nice. tbarnette (105), Allen Park, Michigan, USA
