I used to drink this beer at the Corner Tavern at Rutgers on Wednesday night for 3 bucks a pitcher. Good solid beer

What a nice surprise. Reasonable price and a good drinking b/t. Not a full porter. Nice dark pour with a creamy head. Maltiness is very pleasant. Great beer for its mass production roots.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Looks great uot of the bottle dark with a good brown head, malty aroma without the yellow beer skunkyness. Taste is good cold but the tan takes over the black as it warms. Not a bad brew but I still donít see how it is classified as a porter.

Outstanding black and tan. Robust malty flavor but just a tad too thin.

Had this at the Outback Steakhouse, very good smooth clean and refreshing. This is not a world class brew but much better than most mass produced skunk juice.

The color is a dark red brown. Not much head or lace. The aroma is malty with a touch of hoppyness. The flavor is not as pronounced as you would expect, however, the sweet maltyness is still inviting.

Good B&T but not the best! Good body & taste. Nice with food.

Love the porter by itself. Like the premium by itself. Donít like the two mixed together near as much as individually. A forced brew created to compete with the microbrew revolution of the 80ís. Robust and hearty but lacks follow-through. Too carbonated and tasteless. Smoked and burnt.

UPDATED: FEB 27, 2003 Cooked! Where is the flavor. Reminds me of a Yuengling lager colored with fd&c black #5. A dark beer for people who do not like dark beers. A little sweet. I detect a fair amount of corn/rice.

Reminds me of íAmerican Darkí beers like Michelob Dark that seemed exotic twenty years ago, when lagers ruled the land. There is a taste in this and in Yís porter that I really donít like...must be one of the malts. A little worse than Saranacís Black and Tan (which isnít great either)
