Served from a 12 oz bottle from my sister. The appearance is a medium dark brown with a good amount of bubbles and not much head. The flavors and aromas have a mild toasted malt with the crisp, dry, grainy lager flavors being a bit more pronounced, The mouth is a little too much towards the medium end for my preference. This strikes me as a good intro beer.

Having just moved to S.C. from Northwest Washington State I have never heard of this brewing company. Come East and find out it’s the oldest in the nation. I found this Black and Tan on the shelf of the local BiLo and decided to give it a try. All I can say is, I’m very impressed. To think all this flavor and complexity for a fraction of the price of Guinness, or Murphy’s. I’m a buyer for life.

12 oz. Bottle. This is simply delicious. Porter meets Pilsner. Soft hints of caramel and grains. Tastes of caramel, coffee, chocolate & wheat. The pilsner aspect keeps the porter from giving that strong aftertaste that porters can give. Bravo yuengling!!

Light brown with reddish notes. Tasty and smooth body. Good mild aroma. Tastes more on a dark lager side.

Sampled at the source. Dark clear brown color, light tan head. Aroma of lightly burnt toast. Taste has subtle cocoa.

Amerykański, lekki porter. Barwa niemal czarna, pod światło trochę brązowa. Ładna, lekko przybrudzona piana. Aromat dość ubogi - nieco karmelu, słodyczy i paloności. W smaku trochę metaliczne i dość wodniste. Jest karmel, czekolada, ale stanowczo mało. Lekko kwaskowe. Zdecydowanie za mało ciała. Przeciętne.

Rated from old notes, which summed things up as "decent mediocrity". The rich chocolate and off grainy notes give the impression of a decent porter mixed with a dubious lager.

The best 12 bottle case. Aroma is mild, ’Black’ isn’t exagerated, it’s a dark brew. Tastes of chocolate and other delicious dark things, with just a tiny alcoholic bite. My choice when buying a case.

I had it from the bottle. The taste is caramel, a hint of chocolate, and roasty. It’s smooth and creamy. I always liked this one. It’s simple but well done.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with small beige head. Aroma is both caramel and grain. Mostly caramel malt flavor here, and sweet. Slightly roasty in the finish. Better than expected.

America’s Oldest Brewery(1829)...this one is my favorite of the Yuengling Beers:) When I first had this in College on Draft, I realized quickly the difference between a good Beer and a bad one(Milwaukee Best aka The Beast:)lol
