MrBunn (826), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 23, 2008 Bottle. If you took a thimble full of beer and spilled it into a glass of water, it would give you this color. Bleached out gold with a fizzy bit of a head. Aromas are chalky and grassy... but very weak. Flavor is a bland malt with some adjunct and a bit of a peppery hops presence, but is very weak.
BrewCzar (49), St Louis, Missouri, USA Jul 25, 2008 Bottle pour clear golden color. Almost no head. Aroma is of hops and misc. grains. Starts slightly sweet with a crisp bitter finish. Light and simple. checkmatei1 (239), Willow Grove, USA Jul 25, 2008 Can: Hazy yellow color with not much head. The aroma is of barley and beer. The flavor was actually tasty. I was suprised. It was hot out though and the beer was ice cold. That might have had something to do with it. Overall though, for a Pale Lager, one of the better ones out there. coldbrewky (484), Saugerties, New York, USA Jul 20, 2008 I’ve been drinking a fair ammount of this lately and actually deleted y original rating of it since it didn’t realy match what I think of it now. this is an easy drinking pale lager that gets a bit grainier in the 16 oz returnable bottles (LOCALS ONLY!!) Yes, in response to the recent "who drinks Yuengling thread" yeah, I do. If you dont like it you can get the hell out of the bar! This is a great lawn mower (session beer if you must) and cuts the heat well. sure there is some corn but this isnt the Fatherland now is it?? It is a bit less in the can but price sells as they say. Not much hop character, but rereshing nonetheless. Every beer has its place. I look forward to my next one. joss (3108), Garching b. München, Germany Jul 15, 2008 Can, thx Todd. Slightly hazy pale yellow, creamy white head. Metallic, light rubbery, estery apples, straw aroma. Lightbodied/watery , corny malt, a hint fruit, fitting hop balance, grainy retronasal.
Mellow mouthfeel. beeryswine (2), , New Jersey, USA does not count Jul 10, 2008 I just bought a case of cans for $12.99.
The best thing about this beer is that it’s cheap and it doesn’t taste bad. Most beer this cheap has a horrible sewer funk flavor, but this beer is crisp and clean with no off flavors. Much like the similarly priced Lion beer from Wilkes Barre. A good summer beer when it’s deathly hot outside and you’re in the mood for a bunch of picnic style beers for very cheap. At this price I can’t find anything to complain about.
