Bottle. Good carbonation, but thin aroma. Medium amber color. Very thin hop flavor. Not a good substitute for regular Yuengling lager. Avoid.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours a clear pale yellow color with a thin white head that burns away quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing. Aroma of corn, malt and slight hops. Light-bodied with a mildly vegetal character and notes of pale malts and grassy hops. The finish is sweet with a malt and corn aftertaste. Below average overall.

Huh. Iím not sure why this is separate from the other Yuengling Light entry, but if the alias redirects here, Iíve certainly had the other one a million times. Itís like Yuengling but lighter. A touch of caramel sets it apart from other light adjunct lagers.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours a very clear amber/golden with one finger head that quickly dissipates with minimal lacing. Aroma of toasted malt with little to no hop aroma. Medium to thin bodied. Mildly sweet with mild bitter. medium finish that is mildly bitter. Moderate carbonation. What you would expect. Certainly not abyssmal.

Twelve ounce bottle from Western Hills Remke under the name Yuengling Light, tasted on November 22, 2014. Light to medium yellow hue, standard issue old type of pale lager aroma, flavor thatís slightly lighter than Yuengling Premium with a lot of carbonation. Better than Yuengling Light Lager.

Can from Kelly. Drunk from the can, so I canít speak to the appearance. The nose is corn, caramel, and maybe some earthy hops. Sweet, with a minimum bitterness. Light body, watery, and a little malty. Overall, this is one of the better light beers, but hardly "good".

2014 can. Light amber color with white head. Light grainy nose. Taste is the light grain and some corn. Very slight bitterness. Watery mouthfeel. Inoffensive and slightly better than other macro lights.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance Ė The beer pours a light golden color with a big billowy head of a fizzy white foam. The head fades super quickly, leaving a tiny trace of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell Ė The aroma of the beer is heaviest of a corny sweet smell mixed with some aromas of a light grassy smell and a bit of a skunky smell.
Taste Ė The taste begins with a slightly bready and slightly caramel sweetened flavor. As the taste advances the breadiness decays with a sweeter corn and rice flavor replace the breadiness. Some other flavors of a grassy and more papery flavor come to the tongue more toward the end of the taste, with the mix of flavors ending up leaving a crisp, but somewhat bland and dry flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel Ė The body of the beer, for a light beer, is surprisingly heavy (although still light overall) with a carbonation level that is rather high. Oddly, the thicker body was actually fairly decent for the brew, as while the beer doesnít have too much flavor it doesnít have too many off flavors either, so the thicker body supports better the lighter flavors of the brew all while the higher carbonation is nice for the more refreshing and crisp characteristics of the beer.
Overall Ė Well for a light beer, it is kind of run of the mill to slightly above so. Crisper and somewhat refreshing, but lacking of substantial flavor and any real degree of complexity.
