COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hallertau hops and Bavarian-style top-fermenting yeast deliver a thick, creamy head with overtones of banana and clove esters. This authentic German weizen style beer, with a slight hazy appearance, concludes with a crisp finish.

I wasnít expecting a whole lot out of this Yuengling seasonal offering. Letís face it, they donít have the reputation for brewing outstanding beers. With that said, perhaps thatís why I am so surprised that this weizen is a pretty decent interpretation of the style. The beer pours a hazy light orange color with an ample white head. The head leaves some nice lacing around the glass, as well. The nose isnít all that full, but does have some hints of banana, clove, esters, yeast, wheat and light hops. I found all those qualities in the body of flavors, too. The beer is smooth for the most part. I found the body a little overly carbonated. The beer finishes bright and crisp, with lots of notes of fruit, banana, clove, yeast and wheat. This is a fairly nice weizen.

5/24/14. Bought a 6 pk from CBO for $7.99. Was surprisingly good. Pours a hazy yellow color with a white head. Has the typical wheat characteristic although the flavors are not as strong. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nope dominated by bananas. Slight bitterness at start, turning quickly to bananas and light grain. I donít like bananas and wheat beers, but this is probably one of the tastier ones Iíve had.

Pretty solid brew. Iíd pound a case. Pours a cloudy orange color with a medium white head. A big yeasty banana ester nose. The flavor is light citrus, a bit of yeast, banana, a bit of bubble gum. Pretty good.

Pours hazy gold with a small white head. Aroma is wheat, spicy clove, banana and florals. Taste is very muted sweetness, almost dull all around. Very faint trace of bitters. Medium bodied with some stickiness.

Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow color with a white head. Has a fruity wheat malty spicy aroma. Fruity wheat malty spicy flavor with weak hints of banana. Has a fruity wheat malty spicy yeasty weak banana finish.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark gold body under a one inch fizzy white head that faded quickly to a thin ring. The nose is pretty nice, lots and lots of fruity esters in here, bubble gum, a bit of spicy clove, and a little yeastiness. The flavor is better than expected as well. A touch thin maybe and lacking in a certain roundness due to the lack of yeastiness, but itís very solid for Yuengling. Lighter bodied with soft gentle carbonation. Nice effort, this oneís for real.

An OK beer. More tart than a traditional hefe, but thatís not really a bad thing. Aroma was yeast, clove and wheat. Pour was a hazy medium gold with a thin white ring for a head. Taste was OK. Tart and wheaty with a slightly acidic flavor. Mild clove flavor. Not much of the banana flavor associated with the style. Medium carbonation. In my opinion, American brewers have not been able to nail this style yet.

Slightly cloudy orangish pour with a thin white head. Aroma is banana and light citrus. Creamy body. Lemon, banana and yeast flavors up front. A little bit of bubblegum towards the middle. Lingering wheat past the finish. Pretty darn good for a commercial brewery.

Bottle @ Bus. Thanks, John. Hazed golden pour with a big white head. Slight cardboard and lemon, but a lot of bready malt and a touch of clove. Some grass and cotton candy. Flavor is fairly sweet and bready on the front end. Good amount of banana as well. Sort of bitter and tart on the finish, however. Lots of grass and lemon peel. Mild clove spiciness. Kind of watery.
