Hallertau hops and Bavarian-style top-fermenting yeast deliver a thick, creamy head with overtones of banana and clove esters. This authentic German weizen style beer, with a slight hazy appearance, concludes with a crisp finish.

While this beer has some inadequacies such as character, body and depth, it does have the basic characteristic of being very drinkable. Decent lacing but quickly dissipates to a cloudy golden liquid. Aroma does have influences of bubble gum and cloves similar to a nice German hefe. Overall an average brew, but certainly not bad.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with a thin white head. Aroma of banana, cloves and wheat. Flavor follows the aroma with a touch of spice and had a clean finish.

Their best offering, IMO. A good take on a wheat. Definitely superior to Blue Moon, Shock Top and the like, and that’s the category I see this in. A cheap American try at a German or Belgian beer.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a hazy dark orange with a negligible head. Really no lacing at all and no head retention. A bit of a shame considering what I was expecting for the style. Aroma is loaded with banana and bubblegum as I would expect but there is a little bit of a "wet dog" off-note. Yeastyness and a bit of grass make up the remainder. The flavor doesn’t really have anything wrong with it but it is a bit mild all-around. Good banana and yeast notes with a touch of light caramel and some hay/grass. Bitterness is very light, just enough to balance out the malt, and the finish is quite dry. Soft mouthfeel that is appropriate for the style. Overall, not a bad hefeweizen for the price but it is far from outstanding. A good thirst-quencher but not mind-blowing.

Drank from the bottle. Aroma is wheat, banana, and bubble gum. Taste is citrus, wheat, and grass. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Nothing special

12oz bottle at Philadelphia Airport. A slightly hazy pale amber pour with a thin white head; expected Hefeweizen aroma of yeast, wheat and banana; a grainy body with a pleasant banan taste; and a clean, crisp finish. Lacking the spiceness of some German examples, but very drinkable.

Bottle. Pours golden orange with a white head. Fruity and yeasty, with light spicy notes, moderate sweetness, and a quick yeasty finish. Not bad.

(Bottle). Appearance is classic hazy golden complexion with thick fluffy head. Lots of glass lacing. Flavor is a light wheat with banana and some mild clove. Pretty well done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Actually not that bad, has a faint wheat aroma. Taste is a nice bit of citrus with some good wheat, decent enough.

Hazy yellow with thinning white head. Mostly banana in the aroma, and sweet. Perhaps nostalgia makes me really appreciate this more than I might otherwise but then again, maybe not. America’s oldest brewery, PA local, plus this really is a nice surprise in a mostly authentic Yuengling way. This is a beer Yuengling should be especially proud to bring to the market.
