3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
While it's not as good as the premium macro lagers (Heineken, Harp, etc..) it's a great lager for the price. The last 6 I bought cost me a whopping $4.02. You can drink a ton of it for cheap. That makes it taste a lot sweeter. Thank you Yeungling!

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: DEC 19, 2003 Mild hoppy, nutty aroma (stronger/nicer aroma when served in a tulip shaped glass). Dark yellow/gold appearance. Mild hoppy, nutty flavor. This is my favorite "cheap" beer.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sweet floral aroma is off put by something metalic. Wonderful clear copper color with a short lived head. Very smooth flavor with an intermediate maltiness. No hops or bitterness to speak of. Short finish. Far better than the standard macro offerings.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20
I thought this beer quite good but it had a sweet sugary taste. The head, flavor and rich color added to the overall pleasure of the experience.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
This is pretty close to an "american standard", except that it doesn't have that nasty adjunct flavor, and instead has more actual malts and hops, making it much more respectable than something like Budweiser. The flavor is actually kind of pleasant and a little sweet. Nice amber color too. But still, this is nothing more than an average lager and it certainly doesn't deserve to get any ratings above 4.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAR 26, 2006 3/26/06: Re-rate. Draught at Hooters Orlando Intl Drive. Darker in color than I remember. Bland lager aroma; actually, almost no smell at all. Amber body with a small, off-white head and nice lace. Nice malty smooth flavor. I could drink this all day; session qualities at only 4.9%. Less flavor than I look for in a beer, but a fair amount more than the bulk of the lagers out there. 11/25/03: Bottle. I first heard about Yuengling Lager during the Realbeer.com Battle of the Beers tournament. Some research on it revealed that it had a similar history and following to a beer in my local region, Grainbelt Premium. It turns out the two were matched up against each other in the Battle of the Beers, with Yuengling winning narrowly. At that point I knew I had to find and rate Yuengling, which Kinz so graciously included in his recent shipment to me in trade. I’ll have to say that, despite the hype, Yuengling has nothing on Grainbelt, which must have succumbed due to a larger East Coast voting population. There just isn’t much distinctive about Yuengling like the trademark hoppy sweetness of Grainbelt. The aroma is that of a sweet lager with just a hint of hops. Deep gold in color; darker gold than most lagers. Avg.-sized off-white head with lots of visible carbonation and excellent lace. The one distinctive flavor I could identify is pistachio. A good solid lager. I drank it somewhat warm but it still was pretty good. Reminds me of some of the lagers I had while in Germany. Ar 6, Ap 4, Fl 6, Pal 4, Ov 11.

Don't let the amber color fool you. There's not much else going for this brew. Mild yes. Decent, not really.

UPDATED: JUL 7, 2012 I moved to PA 2 years ago and it took me sometime to warm up to "Lager" as it is commonly refered to by the locals. Now I keep it on tap at the house, not the greatest, but a decent value.

a good tasting beer, easy to drink, great for a cheaper lager, and definetly one of the best beers you'll find at any local frat party
