An iconic American lager famous for its rich amber color and medium-bodied flavor - with a roasted caramel malt for a subtle sweetness and a combination of cluster and cascade hops, this true original delivers a well-balanced taste with very distinct character.

12oz can. Pours a clear caramel with a thin head that fades to nearly nothing. Aroma has hints of sweet grain, and faint glances of traditional hops. Taste is balanced and mild. Grains, traditional spicy/earthy hops, and a short aftertaste. Medium body and carbonation. Clean and refreshing in the mouth. Overall very standard and non offensive. Not that good but drinkable by all.

It pours like Yuengling and smells like it too. Itís not "craft". But itís the oldest brewery in America goddammit. Drink it and like it!

On cask at a well known Florida theme park. Surprisingly good. Itís copper coloured with a decent head. Light body with good carbonation. Malts supply caramel and toffee while the hops give a touch of apricot.

NOTES - perfectly average beer, pretty good for a lager. Itís heritage speaks volumes.

A mid Amber coloured beer with a weak white head. The aroma is light, floral and fruity. Dry mouthfeel. The taste is quite fruity and floral, the fruitiness giving a touch of bitterness that the floral hop balances out, with the help of a background maltiness. A short finish. Draught @ Arthurís, Hoboken, New Jersey.

It is what it is. However, if I'm going to have a traditional lager this is the one I'm having. Pretty good for a Pilsner type lager. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

My first job after college I moved to philly area a place Iíd never been and knew no one. My boss told me this was the beer all Pennsylvanians drank Iíd never heard of. 12 years later my father inlaw stocks this plenty and I always drink a few and finally decided to rate after probably hundreds of them under my belt. Light Brownish pour. Nose is grassy some malt. Tastes of malt, grass, caramel, cardboard. Thin watery.

12 oz green bottle. Clear amber, soapy tan head that dissipates pretty quickly, leaving very little lace.
Caramel malt and cereal grains dominate the aroma. Flavor is sweet caramel, with the slightest hint of hops. Not offensive, but not very memorable either.

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2015 This is a re-rate. I had it on tap. It pours a light amber color with a nice white head and little lacing. The aroma is faint corn malt. The taste is a hint of caramel and malt. It is pretty crisp and refreshing. You certainly could do worse.

This is like a budweiser with some caramel flavoring. Smooth, light, closer to a light than a regular beer. Because of its lack of availability compared to some of the other beers, it rates a little higher, but there is nothing interesting in the taste. On the good side, it is very drinkable.
