2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle. Pours amber in color with white head. Aroma of wheat, hops and malt. Has the typical smell of inexpensive, mass produced beer. The taste is watery, sweet and slightly bitter. Easy to go down with a bitter aftertaste. It’s a decent, cheap beer to bring to backyard cook-outs that will satisfy most beer drinkers.

Awful. What do they brew this beer out of? As it’s the oldest brewery in the US, times must have been dire indeed for them to survive for so long brewing this stuff. Who’d want to drink this? Who did, for all those years?

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: pours a sudsy off white 1" head that rapidly recedes. Very faint amount of lacing. Color is a deep amber. Nice amount of carbonation bubbles streaming up the glass.
Aroma: corn, some toasted malt, and a slight earthy hop.
Mouthfeel: watery, slight stickiness coats the mouth, finish is semi-wet.
Flavor: corn and caramel malt sweetness with a mild hop bitterness for some balance.
Overall: A great ’go between’ beer to serve from a keg at get-togethers. It is mainstream enough for the light beer crowd, but substantial enough to satisfy all but the most extreme beer snobs.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
In pils glass, draft. Almost no head and no lace, light amber. A slight wheat aroma. Taste is also of wheat. Hard to pick up hops, finish is weak as is overall taste. Of the American mass produced beers this may be one of the better ones, not saying much, and going to a party I always hope to at least get this.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Mostly sweet caramel and malt on the nose, with a tinge of banana and cheap beer smell. Maybe a tiny hint of roast as well. Fairly layered and “complex” for a beer in the cheap-ass lager category. The flavor here seems somewhat lacking compared to what the nose offers. There is only a small bit of that sweet caramel up front, but that flavor soon turns to a slightly sour cardboard impression that lasts throughout the lengthy finish.

It’s a solid brew that anyone can drink. Not very hoppy and won’t scare off those who don’t have the most advanced of palates

American made. Tastes like you want it to. Just enough flavor to make you look at the bottle after the first pull. No negatives. Great beer.

Can’t believe I didn’t rate this earlier. Nothing to special about this lager here except it’s overall character. It’s your average lager with JUST a little more body and flavor. This is a pretty decent beer to have with a meal as it is easy on the palate as well.
