COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An iconic American lager famous for its rich amber color and medium-bodied flavor - with a roasted caramel malt for a subtle sweetness and a combination of cluster and cascade hops, this true original delivers a well-balanced taste with very distinct character.

Yuengling long existed as a regional brewer, but in 1987, they re-introduced Traditional Lager, which has become their flagship brand, usually just called "Lager." To put this beer in perspective, itís really not a "craft beer," nor is it intended to be. It uses adjunct and would fall in line with macro swill on the profile scale, checking in at 4.6 percent ABV, 142 calories and only around 13-15 IBUs. It IS, however, a far cry from typical domestic crap. Yuengling has a nice copper color, as they do throw a little caramalt in the mash. Thereís a hint of sweetness in the nose and a slight caramel aroma lingers as it rolls down the gullet. Surprisingly, it has pretty good body for an American lager. It finishes clean with only the faintest whiff of any hop content. It gives a sense of a classic European lager, but without the fuller mouthfeel or protein body of the continental 2-row malt. It actually reminds me a bit of the pre-takeover Strohís when it was caramelized in the direct fire kettle, but with a little more body. It does have flavor, however, and that is not the norm for the typical "big brewer" product. Regardless, this is a wonderful session brew for a large American brewery and a domestic lager, particularly in the cold longneck bottle on a warm summer day. Serving type: bottle

Appearance: this beer pours with a smaller dark beige head that dissipates very quickly, the beer is a very nice clear amber color Aroma: amber malt, nutty, not bad but very simple Taste: some light grain, lightly roasted malt, pretty much non existent hops Palate: lively carbonation, minimal aftertaste of malt, light mouthfeel Overall: pretty good for a lager, I didnít pick up any corn taste so I was pleasantly surprised by that, it is a little watered down for an amber

24 FL. OZ./1 pint 8 FL. OZ can purchased from Learyís for $2.45. To undersized snifter, it pours a fizzy, amber yellow. Seemingly uncarbonated. Pretty weak. Aromas of corn, bell pepper skins, Lager yeast, and fried rice. Tastes the same with the addition of crushed Ibuprofen, chalk dust, and stale bread by swallow. I tried it; now I wonít have to.

Pale yellow with a mild malty aroma. Not a bad lager, but nothing too remarkable. Easy to drink.

On tap at restaurant in Delaware Water Gap. Not much fuzz about this one. Plain, simple lager that I wouldnít be able to differ from all the other mass brewed pilsner styles out there. That said it is a thirst quenching and satisfying beer

Pretty light and watery. Not much in the aroma or taste. No hop presence to speak of. Biscuity aroma and flavor is about all that stands out. For what it is, itís definitely drinkable. Good lawnmower beer. Better than any BMC offerings, in my opinion.

Expected less from this one. Malty and good full bodied brew. Not the best for sure, but had way worse.

Bue à la pression. Rien à retenir de cette bière mis à part le fait qu'elle est de mauvaise qualité en tout point.

This is one of the best beers out on the market. A nice American made beer. Goes with everything and any situation.

I do love this beer. If given an option of a simple, easy drinking beer thatís not too hoppy or bitter, not too malty, not too sweet, not too rich, and yet still interesting enough to keep my attention through multiple beverages? It would certainly be Yuengling. Itís an absolute crying shame I canít get it at all in Texas.

Pint on draft at a local pizza parlor. Pours with a well-sized, creamy and durable head over a clear deep amber body. Very good looking but it is downhill from here. The feel is OK, with a smooth creamy but overly thin body. The aroma has earthy hops which also bring a modicum of spiciness, plus a hint of baked bread from the malts. A suggestion of a metallic character that, fortunately, is missing in the taste. Flavor: mild but earthy hops with a rather minimal malt base. O: a bit more hoppy than the standard AB/Miller/Coors lager but, despite the darker color, lacking in malts.
