2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
DATE TASTED: August 24, 2013 ... GLASSWARE: 22 oz. pilsner glass... OCCASION: last revisiting the old classic...had too much at cousin Missyís wedding last night--cheers...APPEARANCE: uneven, variably sized bubbles lodge and flutter in a brown-orange body; two-finger head settles to an off-white iced tea head that does not lace... AROMA: scents of peanut and toasted bread in the malty profile; hops provide little other than some funky undertones...PALATE: like medium-bodied, this begins with some strength but ends oily in the throat; aftertaste more than lingers...TASTE: definite bread amid vegetable elements; a bit of bubblegum too... OVERALL: a Northeastern PA sessions staple--one can order by simply saying "lager" in most establishments; this profiles as a beer with a strong odd-tasting dimension; relatively easy-drinking and very affordable, the lager ranks above mass-marketed faux pilsners but below many craft lager offerings; the label reminds us this beer was pioneered when colors (amber, in this case) were the distinguishing aspect of the industry...

Can. Smells like beer. Sweet malt taste but slightly rubbery. Clean and fizzy. Fine for what it is.

Outstanding beer. My personal favorite "go to" beer. Medium dark lager, with light aroma and a nice head on tap. Slightly skunky hops note with clean malt tones and a marvelous finish. Stays clean with no sour or sweetish overfill. Canít get over how easy to drink and delightful this beer is. Best American commercial brew out there.

Copper color pours nicely with a light head. This is my favorite American lager. Great taste I only wish it was available in our state.

Huge ass can from all grain Duane, thanks! Golden amber with a very large fluffy ecru quickly fading topper. Aroma is grainy and grassy with lightly skunked hops and bready malt. Taste is pale lager bland with caramel, grains, a bit of grass and a zippy finish. Okay for the style.

Brutal on tap pour at Hod Rod Hula Hop in Columbus. Not good. What you get here is boring, slightly sour lager that slowly kills the soul. The other alternative was PBR. I made a mistake.

Corn sweet on the fore. Quite a full bodied texture. Sweetness continues throughout with a slight tang.

Nicely done for a standard lager. Great caramel colour and enough flavour to be interesting.
