COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An iconic American lager famous for its rich amber color and medium-bodied flavor - with a roasted caramel malt for a subtle sweetness and a combination of cluster and cascade hops, this true original delivers a well-balanced taste with very distinct character.

(Thanks, Josh "StFun") Bottle. A- Malty, cereal, hay, caramel, slightly skunky. A- Copper color, clear liquid, off white head. T- Malty, cereal, grass, caramel, bready. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, malty finish. O- I wanted this one not because of the high scores but because it’s a stable of the East Coast and you can’t get it even remotely close to Nebraska. Finally got the chance and was surprised with how not bad it actually was. It was actually alright. Not a lot of flavor but balanced.

Total crap. I was once told that I should try this cos the beer has history. It tastes like a poor macro lager. Even though it was in an ice cold glass, it still didn’t mask how awful it tastes. Seriously. And it’s available everywhere in Florida (as a high priced domestic!). No thanks!

For a lager, typical and traditional, I have to say this beer is quite good. Nice proper, but still rather small bitterness. The mouth feel is rather annoying tho, watery and too much carbonated.

Pours an amber from the tap. Aroma is a malty, caramel, some pine hops nestled in there as well. Flavor almost has some aniseed or something similar in there. Drinkable to be sure. Okay beer.

UPDATED: MAR 28, 2015 Bottle at The Chateau in Andover, MA; on tap at Culpepper’s North Andover, MA. Mild floral aroma. Beautiful clear, reddish/copper color--its best attribute, with minimal, fleeting head. Taste is pleasant, mildly bitter and not particularly strong. Light to medium body with crisp texture and average carbonation. A highly drinkable, competent lager that is a step up from major brand lagers, but doesn’t stand out in any way.

12 ounce can into lager glass, canned on 12/11/2014. Pours slightly hazy orange/copper color with a 1 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of caramel, toast, bread, brown sugar, light nuttiness, pear, apple, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance dark/toasted malt, earthy hops, and light yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, toast, bread, brown sugar, light nuttiness, apple, pear, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Minimal herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, bread, brown sugar, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice robustness and balance of dark/toasted malt, earthy hops, and light yeast ester flavors; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Fairly clean for a lager, there is some fruitiness present, but not too much. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.4%. Overall this is a nice Vienna lager style. All around good robustness and balance of dark/toasted malt, earthy hops, and light yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
