24 oz can. This is the second time I’ve had this, and the first time in almost a year. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head that lingers long enough to interfere with the pouring before it disapears to nothing. Aroma is almost nonexistent, but faint burnt malts. Taste is watery and burnt malts with no hop bitterness whatsoever. Watery and bland, but still head and shoulders above other domestic lagers like Bud and its ilk. Good if there is nothing else, but ultimately bland and forgettable.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Slight aroma of bread and honey. Pours clear yellow colour with minimal head. Slight bitterness without much flavour other than that of a typical big-brand style lager. Medium body with very subtle creamy texture. No sensation lasts long on the tongue. Overall, ok for a beer that requires no attention except for the energy needed to lift the bottle to one’s mouth

Bottle. Pours dark amber. Aroma of malts. Tastes smooth. Definitely no complexity but would always choose this before a Bud or Coors.

In pils glass, draft. Almost no head and no lace, light amber. A slight wheat aroma. Taste is also of wheat. Hard to pick up hops, finish is weak as is overall taste. Of the American mass produced beers this may be one of the better ones, not saying much, and going to a party I always hope to at least get this.

UPDATED: SEP 4, 2013 Remember drinking this in my youth when I grew up in NY. Of course during a Florida trip it’s on tap everywhere. Sort of whale for the west coast I guess. Not a great beer but a ton of east coast transplants certainly reminiscent over it. Had it poured at a couple of beach bars while visiting the Space Coast. Poured reddish amber. Some skunky tones along with grains. Hardly any bitterness. Although as it warmed I certainly picked up some buttered caramel diacetyl notes. Could this be mistreatment of the lines? Well, it is what it is.

Duft av malt . Lys mørk farge. Noe skum som forsvinner raskt. Frisk smak, noe søtlig men ikke mye.

Yeast and sweetish malt aroma. Pours clear dark honey gold with a thick off white head that lasts a good while leaving a good amount of lacing. Very light. Thin mouthfeel. Papery finish. A little bit of an edge. I don’t see what all the fuss is about. It just tastes like any number of cheap beers.

The Pennsylvania equivalent of the West Coast’s Henry Weinhardt’s Private Reserve. A very basic lager, but with way more flavor and depth than Budweiser. Has an annoyingly metallic flavor, but not bad if you are out of money and want to drink a few brewskis at a party.

Nice for a lager, which is not quite my favorite style. Smooth and a little sweet. Nothing at all offensive.

Pushes the borderline between macroswill and microbrewery. Mix a Bug Light with a high-quality brew, and I'd expect it to taste like this. Probably good to give as gifts to friends that haven't yet disocvered beer beyond BMC, but don't bother buying it for yourself.
