1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Green bottle with twist off cap. Copper colored brew with no head, reeks of corn. Goes down okay, but still lots of corn flavor and unpleasantly sweet.

While itís better than most US macrobrews, it doesnít have the character to compete with a good lager. I feel my friends overrate this beer just because itís often one of the better mass-market alternatives at a typical bar, for a fairly reasonable price. But itís still got a lot of mass-market cheap-beer corny flavor.

A mild hop character with strong corn and chemical characteristics as well. Light red color leads you to believe it will be better than most; and it is, by a hair.

The art losers and theater trash that drink this crap should really save mommy and daddy some money and get themselves some 40s. This stuff isnít the worst beer ever, but unlike a 40 or hurricane, yuengling has pretensions of actually being something I would want to drink. Well guess what, I donít. Itís barely a lager. Orange in color. Smells of corn and light hops. I have some respect for really bad beer itís mediocrity that gets me steemed, and this "lager" really takes the cake in that respect. DONíT buy this beer if you want to have a good brew. DO buy this beer if you need to get some emo trash sauced quickly.

(12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with hopdog, thanks Steve!) This is ridiculous. My fourth different Yuengling pale lager today, and thereís so little difference between them, whatís the point of all these? I can see having a pale lager and a light version, but two of each? Anyway, this is just as grainy as the Premium Beer, but thereís no corn flavor, itís not sweet, and thereís a mild cardboard flavor in the finish. This is not a good tasting beer, except maybe by macro standards. The nose is grainy and a bit like stinky feet. Light bodied. Golden-amber color is the darkest of the four, and the off-white head shows the best retention, maintaining a wide ring. I like the Premium Beer the best of the bunch, but mostly, Iím just glad this mini-tasting is over.

Had this in a can at the Blue Door last night. Nice and metallic. Not overly carbonated, which was nice. Some OK malts. I canít say much for the aroma. The hops were definitely a cut above those of the macros. I should mention, that this was the first beer I ever drank at college, my freshman year, underage, of course. I remember enjoying it then.

Bottle and tap.Iím a PA boy and this is really a high school beer, clean and simple. Itís usually the first beer any central PA kid has after a bud! An improvement, but nothing to brag about. Maybe i just drank too much of it.

Yuck, awful skunky smell thanks to the green bottle. Taste matches, super skunk that just drowns out any semblance of actual beer taste. This beer has the same problem as Heineken, it’s been fouled by light thanks to the green bottle.

Bottle. Pours a clear, medium amber, very thin head that dies quickly. Aroma is slightly skunky, a touch of sweet malt. Flavor is again slightly skunky, malt, not much else. Why brewers still use green bottles is beyond my comprehension, I know, I know, the green bottle scores higher in marketing,......but it ruins the beer !!!!

Draft. Pours clear, light gold with a a thin, quickly dissapating head. Aroma of wheat, malt, and hops. Light body with a light finish. Not nearly as good as I remember from my high school days.
