COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An iconic American lager famous for its rich amber color and medium-bodied flavor - with a roasted caramel malt for a subtle sweetness and a combination of cluster and cascade hops, this true original delivers a well-balanced taste with very distinct character.

Over-rated beer, I just don’t like this beer. Tastes like crap out of the bottle. Can someone tell me why? No you can’t, cause you don’t know either. Some bad swill, but have had worse.

UPDATED: MAY 2, 2003 Similar to budweiser, but more skunky. You have to drink these fast.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2003 A pretty good lager. Good on a hot day. Has a malty taste but not too heavy. Overall a good lager. Has a somewhat sweet aftertaste. Creamy head, but doesn't hold up well. It's overall a good lager, but seems to suffer from the mass quantity syndrome of huge batches.

Bottle. Amber colored with a small white head that didnít stick around. Aroma is faint but smells of grain and hay. Sweet grain flavor with a hint of malt and a bitter, astringent finish. Watery and heavily carbonated. Iíve had worse but this really wasnít that impressive.

The best I can say is it is better than BMC mega-swill. Not going to drink it by choice.

best american beer for the money. 1st beer i ever drank it was good then it’s still good now particularly on a hot day after twisting wrenches in my driveway.

Terrible, considering it was hyped for so long because it wasnít avail. in MA. I guess itís a step up from Natural Light, but thatís about it. Wish I could return the last 5 bottles. If youíre a dumb budweiser loving simpleton, you might like this crap.

Basic American lager. It has a light to medium body and is somewhat refreshing but with largely cereal characteristics. I know a bit more about beer these days, but when I was still a "lager-lover" this was my go-to brew.

Tap at Pat OíBrienís in Orlando. Going in with really low expectations in the hope Iíll be pleasantly surprised. Deep golden color with a surprisingly persistent head. I donít appreciate the smell...kind of reminds me of malt liquor. And the taste...well...there will be no pleasant surprises. It sticks with the malt liquor theme. Hops nowhere in the vicinity. Zero complexity. Grain heavy taste and really sits heavy almost right away too. Honestly would have ordered the Bass again had I known what I signed up for. Please explain who drinks this option.

Bottle: It seems like everyone in Michigan LOVES this beer (Iím talking my psuedo-craft friends & family) & always talks about how great it is. Why? Probably because they had to drive to Ohio to get some, so that somehow makes it taste better. Truth is, it ainít much different than your run or the mill macro lager. Slightly bigger bready & grainy profile with a hint more earthiness. But still a largely overstated DMS component & a huge skunky aftertaste, thanks to the UV-porous bottles. Donít be fooled.
