COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The dark chocolate appearance is reminiscent of a porter, and the slightly darkened creamy head tops the look. But the first sip lets you know that this beer can be drank, in quantity if desired (or required?), without leading to an overly full gullet. Intricate malt flavors predominate, with a medium mouth-feel and a very light bitter.

Bottle @ Calgary Beer Fest. Pours clear brown with a medium, fizzy tan head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is caramel, nutty and toast malt, dates and figs with earthy hops. Flavor is malt dominant, light hops and bitterness with dark fruits and a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

This was the best of the Yukon beers we tried this evening. Dark and malty. Vanilla and dried fruit. Very tasty.

Bottle@Fiddle River, Jasper, Canada. Reddish brownish black beer with a strong light brown head. The aroma is lightly malty, and the flavour is malty with some molasses and vinous notes. Overall a pretty average ale, but I've had a beer from the Yukon. Well pleased with that. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled at the GCBF. Dark ruby-brown, mild spidering. Aroma is malt, bitter, and sour. Taste is round simple dark ale with a bitter background. The taste is actually quite good, but the sourness in the aroma turns me off. It might be dirty lines, it might be a slightly off batch, but it is what it is.

Bottle - Dark sweet earthy fruIt, figs and sourness. Rotated malts also on the nose. Dark brown, almost black, with minimal head. Sweetness coming from figs, raisins, cherries and a very mild bitterness. A bit syrupy, served warm would go great with a dessert. I couldnt drink more than one, if one at all. If you could compare a beer to a port this would be the one.
