COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The dark chocolate appearance is reminiscent of a porter, and the slightly darkened creamy head tops the look. But the first sip lets you know that this beer can be drank, in quantity if desired (or required?), without leading to an overly full gullet. Intricate malt flavors predominate, with a medium mouth-feel and a very light bitter.

Frothy head on a dark ruby beer. Porter-like malt nose. Complex malt. Stout-like. Swear there is a light cherry taste in the finish. Hints of chocolate. Is this the stout without the Espresso? Toasty and tasty. A nice winter warmer.

12 oz. bottle brought back to AZ by my mother-in-law - Pours a brown color with a nice light tan head. Light lacing. Has a very light roasted malt aroma. Has a nice roasted chocolate flavor. Medium body. Seems more like a Porter than an English Strong. A good beer. Thanks Ma V.

Hazelnut brown colour. Nutty, chocolatey aroma. The flavour is moderate for a strong ale, and certainly I’d hope for bigger if I wanted to survive a Yukon winter. It’s a little chocolatey, with hints of nuts and light coffee notes.

Malty, fruity caramel aroma with notes of chocolate and roasty dark malts. Clear dark amber-brown with decent tan head that recedes to cover. Bittersweet chocolate malt flavours with a decent balancing bitterness. Some alcohol noticeable in the finish. Body perhaps a touch on the thin side for a winter warmer but very enjoyable. Bottle. Thanks, JoeMcPhee.

Thanks for the bottle JoeMcphee. Poured a very dark brown with a thin tan head. The aroma is very roasty. The flavour is initially roasted malt followed by a nice sweetness and just a hint of bitterness on the finish. Very enjoyable.

Bottle: Poured a clear dark copper beer with a huge head with good retention. Aroma is quite malty with some noticeable roastiness. Taste is very interesting with some notes of roastiness coming in at first and ending with a balanced bitterness. No too complex beer overall, but a good example of the style.

In bottle at the Mondial de la Bičre 2004: Dark copper brown color with a dense light tan head. Sweet bready caramel aroma has a touch of hoppy bitterness. Full, thick malty body has a nice hopped balance, sweet toffee and lightly roasted malt flavor, and a smooth finish. A very nice beer and from the Yukon of all places!

Creamy head, thick. Dark brown chocolate malt is dominant, woody feel. This ale was full bodied, clean with nice good depth. Alcohol was well blended, supported well coffee like finish. Very pleasant dark ale.

Dark brown witha moderate tan head. Aroma is dark roasty malt, and the flavour has delicious chocolatey notes and sweet malt. Slightly roasty bitterness in the finish. A very pleasant way to start things off. Mondiale 3T (Me).

Dark brown beer with a slightly ruby tint. Thick rocky dark tan coloured head. The head fades back leaving a thick lacing around the glass. Vanilla and chocolate aromas leap out of the glass along with some fruity esters that seem to be present in all of this brewery’s beers. Flavour features bitter chocolate, vanilla, some coffee and is followed by a hint of astringency and bitterness before you get hit by a warming alcoholic finish. Truly premium stuff.
