COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The dark chocolate appearance is reminiscent of a porter, and the slightly darkened creamy head tops the look. But the first sip lets you know that this beer can be drank, in quantity if desired (or required?), without leading to an overly full gullet. Intricate malt flavors predominate, with a medium mouth-feel and a very light bitter.

Bottle at Andy’s courtesy of Joe. Pours brown with a thin white head. Nice nutty malt, sweet light roast. Flavors of sweet caramel, and nice nuttiness in the malt. Long sweet roast and malt on the finish. Tasty stuff.

Bottle from a little liquor store in Lendrum Place (by Sunterra and Jack’s). 7%. Dark brown pour with a minimal tan head that fades quickly to a ring. Aroma is toffee, chocolate, vanilla, hint of coffee. Strong malty notes with a hint of light hoppy bitterness in the finish. 7% abv is well disguised as this feel medium-light bodied. A great brew from Whitehorse.

12 oz. bottle brought back to AZ by my mother-in-law - Pours a brown color with a nice light tan head. Light lacing. Has a very light roasted malt aroma. Has a nice roasted chocolate flavor. Medium body. Seems more like a Porter than an English Strong. A good beer. Thanks Ma V.

341ml brown bottle. Dark brown in colour. Head is small but creamy, off white in colour. Decent lacing. Nose has some sweet chocolate malt, faint roasted malt. Flavour has some bold dark malts, pretty roasty, some dark chocolate. Late bitterness. Ends with some lingering roast malt. Medium body and carbonation. Smooth for 7%.

12oz bottle from Firefly in Vancouver. Couldn’t find the word "Chilkoot" anywhere on the bottle label or the box...what is that about? Pours a porter-like cola brown with decent tan head that last well. Aroma is slightly sweet with strong malt notes of caramel, cocoa, some leather. Taste is fairly thick with malts, toffee (?), slight hit of alcohol, hops subdued but there in the finish. Sweeter than I like. Reminds me a lot of a porter. It’s decent but not outstanding.

Hazelnut brown colour. Nutty, chocolatey aroma. The flavour is moderate for a strong ale, and certainly I’d hope for bigger if I wanted to survive a Yukon winter. It’s a little chocolatey, with hints of nuts and light coffee notes.

Bottle@Fiddle River, Jasper, Canada. Reddish brownish black beer with a strong light brown head. The aroma is lightly malty, and the flavour is malty with some molasses and vinous notes. Overall a pretty average ale, but I've had a beer from the Yukon. Well pleased with that. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
