Commercial Description:
Hearty northern people love a hearty stout beer. We've teamed up wtih Yukon's famous Midnight Sun Coffee Roaster to create this special blend. Originally developed for "Bean Queen" Zola Dore in a small batch kettle system by Yukoner Mitt Stehelin, we've retained the artisan qualities of this unique, unfiltered brew. The robust taste of this hearty stout starts with the smooth glide of real espresso and finishes with a dry chocolatey malt flavour. Why the big bottle? You'll love it so much, you'll want to share it with a friend, or not!

Bottle thanks to Glouglouburp!
Dark brown with a thin cream head, mainly bubbles. Some roast in the nose with some dark coffee, but the grind is approaching green/hot pepper like spice that shows some degradation. Flavor exhibits some of this as well, too green despite the nice coffee. Lightly ashy body, bitter finish that leaves light chocolate and coffee lingering, and surprisingly, is slightly warming. I wish this was a bit purer.

341 ml bottle from SAQ, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Deep brown-black with a fair mocha froth. Aroma: Strong and very ashen/minerally black coffee, almost dusty, a little dark chocolate if you dig, Palate: Medium+ body, almost flat, smooth and slick. Flav.: Better than the nose, mainly black coffee with some dark chocolate, light grape notes, still some mineral/ash but much, much less than on the nose; kinda sweet with good bitterness and a pleasant coffee/chocolate finish, lingers for quite some time.

The nose is not inviting but the finish is excellent.

Bottle from glouglouburp. Thanks DANY! Pours a deep brown with a small tan head. Tastes like a cool chocolate cocoa espresso concoction. Some pleasant bitterness. Very smooth. Good beer!

Bottle. Black pour with small brown head. Aroma is coffee with some maltiness to it. Taste is good lots of coffee here with a good bitterness just a wee bit watery. Mouthfeel is disapointing, way too watery I was expecting/wanted something much creamier, carbonation is good at least. This is ok.

341ml bottle, best by Nov 2009, with another thanks to Glouglouburp for the bonus! Pours dark brown with a moderate tan head. Aroma is a little earthy, with espresso, cocoa, and roasted malts. Flavor is nicely creamy, with more earthy coffee, roasted malts and chocolate. This one was not overly complex but quite enjoyable, thanks again Dany!

341 ml bottle from Levis SAQ. Pours a virtually black colour with a small brwon head. Very strong aroma of coffee, roast and chocolate. Flavour has notes of coffee and roasted malt. Flavour is thinner than nose might make one suspect. Nice beer.

Bottle. Small creamy head. Strong coffee aroma, alcohol is also noticeable in the aroma, wich is surprising for a stout that is not that strong in alcohol. Roasted malt, coffe and nuts. Alcohol still noticeable. Not bad, but not the best stout there is !

Nice bitter coffee aroma and some burnt malt. Flavor is a little thin the aroma is much more full on the coffee notes. It’s a good stout but it’s just a regular coffee stout. The mill street coffee porter is still my go to coffrr beer.
