| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 11, 2006 Bottle. Deep blac color with tan head. Coffee, coffee, coffee and malt aroma. Taste is mostly coffee and malt but like Siroy said, after one liter it comes alittle boring but i drank it all myself and it was pleasant.
11026 (1799), Alabama, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 31, 2005 From 1 liter bottle at the Montreal YeHa! 2005. Black with little head, deep and opaque....burnt coffee grounds in the assertive nose, sharp bitter and dry, this a sweet stout?....but in the body, the burnt characteristics are lovingly balance by sweet molasses and maple, and the coffee is smooth and enervating rather than harsh...gorgeous and delectable. I had high expectations for this. Pours a deep dark brown/black.. thin brownish head with medium retention. When it comes to aroma, you understand rapidly what an ‘Espresso Stout’ is. Definitely smells acidic/roasted coffee beans. No real chocolate traces. Taste is not up to scratch.. watery in fact. The attack is pretty weak for a stout, even a sweet; you get to wait a little to get a shy development of coffee. Light but creamy body, soft carbonation, medium to long finish. It’s a fine beer after all, but 1 liter could get a little boring, (still, i had it all) BückDich (4832), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 7, 2005 Sampled at Oakes’ ’05 Xmas Party Dark mahogany, tan head, light lacing. Nose of powdered wood, old stale and lightly roasted Robusta. Light vanilla and roast in the flavor but it’s just so dry. There’s a glass full of liquid in front of me but it dehydrates me to drink it. More of a greasy feel and a balanced roasted note in the finish. Coffee beers usually hit my B-spot but not this one. After the 8-2 thrashing the Blue Jackets took in hockey tonight I just grabbed the biggest bottle I could find in the cellar. Pours black with a healthy tan head that stays pretty well and laces well. Aroma is coffee roasted malts, and a bit of bakers chocolate. Flavor is quite tasty. Much coffee, a bit more of that dark baker’s chocolate, roasted malts.. Very pleasant flavor. Palate is very smooth and quite dry with a somewhat bitter finish. Not an overpoweringly big stout. Just a very smooth drinker that doesn’t go to any extremes. Very nice coffee stout. And contrary to what the description above says I didn’t want to share my bottle. Not at all!! | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 26, 2005 Bottle (courtesy of Presario as part of the Secret Santa): Poured a pitch-black color stout with a small brown head. Aroma is pure coffee with subtle roasted malt. Taste is definitely dominated by the coffee with pure creamy roasted malt and light bitter ending. Wow, I’m quite impressed with that one and I don’t think I ever had a beer with so much coffee in it. Body is above average but could be fuller. Alcohol is also a bit low and I think the beer could have benefited from a higher ABV. Definitely the best beer from this brewery and impressive considering the no-man land it is coming from.
