Commercial Description:
Hearty northern people love a hearty stout beer. We've teamed up wtih Yukon's famous Midnight Sun Coffee Roaster to create this special blend. Originally developed for "Bean Queen" Zola Dore in a small batch kettle system by Yukoner Mitt Stehelin, we've retained the artisan qualities of this unique, unfiltered brew. The robust taste of this hearty stout starts with the smooth glide of real espresso and finishes with a dry chocolatey malt flavour. Why the big bottle? You'll love it so much, you'll want to share it with a friend, or not!

341ml bottle from SAQ. Pours black with a small creamy head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate. Hints of vanilla and coffee. Taste is dark chocolate with hints of coffee and some alcohol. Small bitterness. Quite mild overall. Aroma is much better than the taste. It still is a good beer though.

12-oz. Thanks, Glouglouburp! Pours black with very dark brown highlights. Loose, bubbly light tan film on top. Big coffee nose. There is absolutely no mistaking the inspiration for the name of this one--should come with a coupon for bacon and eggs in the six-pack. Creamy medium body. Some carb there, but subdued enough to integrate very subtly. Roasty, coffeeish mid-palate. Long dry finish.

12oz. bottle. Pours a dark, semi-transparent, mahogany brown color with a creamy, foamy, khaki colored head. Frothy bubbles gather at the edges, leaving broken arches and skinny flares of lacing behind. The nose shows a god mix of dry cocoa and roasty espresso, with hints of lactic creaminess and some caramel sweetness. The flavor mirrors the aroma, bittersweet baker’s chocolate, dark caramel, and roasted coffee beans coming together well, with hints of evaporated milk on the finish. If there’s a down point, it’s that the coffee roast is a bit acrid, almost as if it’s a little past its prime. The palate is smooth and well carbonated, but lacking in substance a bit. Overall, its a good coffee stout. Far from the best I’ve had, but tasty and enjoyable nonetheless.

Thanks to Glouglouburp for the bonus. Pours a deep dark brown with a fizzy foamy head. Aroma is big roasty coffee- slight stale old grinds though left in the filter, sharp burnt espresso beans, chocolate. Flavor becomes a bit harsh and astringent, stale ground coffee, toastiness, nuts, light fruit and a weakish finish and a strange almost berry like hint in the aftertaste- strange.

Bottle. Aroma of roasted malt, loads of caramel and vanilla, leafy/piny hops. Coffee really comes out in the flavor, intensely bitter, heavily roasted coffee with lots of help from charred malt and likely from the hops to balance the big caramel sweetness and vanilla. Quite nice.

Bottle from my Secret Santa. Pours black with a small light tan head. Aroma of sweet roasted malt, vanilla, molasses, and bitter chocolate, roasted nuts. Flavor of roasted coffee, roasted nuts, and sweet malt. Flavor is better than the aroma. Very nice coffee beer (a touch sweet)! 7/4/8/4/15 (3.8/5)

@dmacs UFC100 Gathering courtesy of dickinsonbeer-12oz bottle–pours a light brown ring for a head and black color. Aroma is dark malt-coffee/chocolate. Taste is dark malt-coffee with some bite. Full body. OK carbonation. Nice, but not my taste.
