Hearty northern people love a hearty stout beer. We've teamed up wtih Yukon's famous Midnight Sun Coffee Roaster to create this special blend. Originally developed for "Bean Queen" Zola Dore in a small batch kettle system by Yukoner Mitt Stehelin, we've retained the artisan qualities of this unique, unfiltered brew. The robust taste of this hearty stout starts with the smooth glide of real espresso and finishes with a dry chocolatey malt flavour. Why the big bottle? You'll love it so much, you'll want to share it with a friend, or not!

Bottle @ Exira Beer Summit IV, Day 2. Pours a brown appearance with a foamy brown head. Roasty coffee, rich dark milk chocolate, vanilla bean, a bit herbal aroma. Quite nice creamy dessert flavor with plenty of dark chocolate and coffee along with a bit of nuts and vanilla. Çhïłł beer and even more çhïłł Yukon Territory rake.

341ml bottle. Pours black with a 1/4 finger mocha head that thins out to a film quickly. Aroma has large notes of coffee, bitter chocolate, and hints of molasses, vanilla, bread, and caramel. Taste is bitter with a much the same notes as the aroma. Coffee, bitter chocolate, roasted malts. Medium body with a low-medium carbonation. A bit of a thin texture in the mouth but with a slight creamyness. Easily drinkable. Overall pretty good. It is just what you would expect from an espresso stout but I wouldn’t call it a Sweet Stout. Big coffee flavours that is very drinkable, Mind you this bottle was a touch past its date it was still very good. I would buy again.

bouteille de 341ml de noire. arome peu puissante de café avec notes d’anis et de cassonade. en bouche le café ressort avec son amertume mais c’est tres agréable avec des notes sucré qui équilibrent bien le tout

341ml bottle into a shaker. Pours jet black with a sparse head and light lacing. Big nose of espresso and malt. Less coffee flavour than expected on the nose, but some dark chocolate and maybe some currant? Smooth, rich, smoky, and mighty tasty.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, thanks Aaron! Dark black pour with thin tan head, dissipates quickly. Aroma brings nice espresso, coffee, roast, nie green bean, slight chocolate, caramel, toffee, pretty nice. Taste is a nice mix of dark chocolate, roast going into big espresso, coffee bean, nice and not over roasted with good coffee, not folgers grounds. Nice earth, spice, hints of caramel, finishing roasted, slightly dry. Nice.

Tasted in August 2011. Aroma is earthy, smoke and coffee. Not sticking out much. Color is black with not a lot of head. Taste: A lot of black coffee, espresso, with notes of smoke. Medium bitterness. Well achieved beer. Reminds me Guinness stout.

341ml bottle, best before December 2013 (how old can this be?). Pour is pitch black with a good cover of moka colored foam. Good lacing. Aroma is just like walking into a coffee shop but also bordering on ash (though it is not ashy so all is well). It is quite potent though, with both roasted and unroasted beans aromas. Taste is sweet with again these strong (pleasant) coffee notes crushing the chocolatey background. No roasted malt acidity (good!). Body is full, carbonation low to medium. Mouthfeel is somehow silky, smooth. Overall a really nice coffee stout, not without its rough edges but still highly enjoyable.

341. ml. bottle. Bought over from tderoeck. Split by 2. At least 6+ months of age but easily more. Pours black with basically no mocha head. Nose is roasted, clear roasted espresso and coffee in the nose, roasted malts but slightly covered / coupled with a simple sweetness with light molasses. Taste is bitter roast, roasted coffee and espresso leading into simple molasses and chocolate sweetness with some cocoa and cold coffee. Little carb. & not too heavy body. Certainly enjoyable but very simple and bit basic. I have had certainly better and this could have had something more but still nice.
