| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 2, 2009 12oz. bottle. Pours a dark, semi-transparent, mahogany brown color with a creamy, foamy, khaki colored head. Frothy bubbles gather at the edges, leaving broken arches and skinny flares of lacing behind. The nose shows a god mix of dry cocoa and roasty espresso, with hints of lactic creaminess and some caramel sweetness. The flavor mirrors the aroma, bittersweet baker’s chocolate, dark caramel, and roasted coffee beans coming together well, with hints of evaporated milk on the finish. If there’s a down point, it’s that the coffee roast is a bit acrid, almost as if it’s a little past its prime. The palate is smooth and well carbonated, but lacking in substance a bit. Overall, its a good coffee stout. Far from the best I’ve had, but tasty and enjoyable nonetheless. Dickinsonbeer (3449), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 25, 2009 Thanks to Glouglouburp for the bonus. Pours a deep dark brown with a fizzy foamy head. Aroma is big roasty coffee- slight stale old grinds though left in the filter, sharp burnt espresso beans, chocolate. Flavor becomes a bit harsh and astringent, stale ground coffee, toastiness, nuts, light fruit and a weakish finish and a strange almost berry like hint in the aftertaste- strange. fredandboboflo (1404), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 22, 2009 Bottle. Aroma of roasted malt, loads of caramel and vanilla, leafy/piny hops. Coffee really comes out in the flavor, intensely bitter, heavily roasted coffee with lots of help from charred malt and likely from the hops to balance the big caramel sweetness and vanilla. Quite nice. LilBeerDoctor (1493), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 20, 2009 Bottle from my Secret Santa. Pours black with a small light tan head. Aroma of sweet roasted malt, vanilla, molasses, and bitter chocolate, roasted nuts. Flavor of roasted coffee, roasted nuts, and sweet malt. Flavor is better than the aroma. Very nice coffee beer (a touch sweet)!

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 16, 2009 Bottle shared at the UFC 100 gathering. Poured a deep dark brownish/black with a bubbly foamy beige head. Aroma was very roasty with notes of chocolate and espresso. The roastiness follows through into the flavor with espresso and coffee grounds making up the main part of the flavor. The body is rather thin fo a stout but hey they all can’t be 10W-30. This was really nice and a good brew and I’m glad I had it before the CCB CEM stout or else this one would have rated far less. egajdzis (3621), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 12, 2009 Poured a dark brown color with a small, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, light espresso, nuts, cocoa, and a bit of smoke. Taste of roasted malts, chestnuts, bitter, burnt wood, and a dry finish. sebletitje (1903), Tampa, Florida, USA

pours black, light beige head.
aroma of strong roasted coffee malts, hints of chocolate.
taste, coffee, malts. The espresso is just all over the place and in a good way. It is note overly coffeish, meaning that the finish is lightly bitter.
Simple stout, very coffee oriented, drinkable but one bottle should be enough.
