Hearty northern people love a hearty stout beer. We’ve teamed up wtih Yukon’s famous Midnight Sun Coffee Roaster to create this special blend. Originally developed for "Bean Queen" Zola Dore in a small batch kettle system by Yukoner Mitt Stehelin, we’ve retained the artisan qualities of this unique, unfiltered brew. The robust taste of this hearty stout starts with the smooth glide of real espresso and finishes with a dry chocolatey malt flavour. Why the big bottle? You’ll love it so much, you’ll want to share it with a friend, or not!

Sampled along the RBSG 2014 bus tour, as in, on the actual bus. Some coffee in the aroma. Pitch black pour. Taste is slightly tart with an off-putting green coffee, almost vegetal thing going on.

This is brown with a fiant brown, fine-bubbled head. It has a sort of vinous cardboard thing going on. It is slightly tart but still kind of flabby and wattery. There’s some decent malt character and coffee but this is just not really good at all.

Roasty stout with loads of espresso coffee notes, vanilla, chocolate and nuts. Pretty balanced and tasty.

Dans mon style: espresso stout. Mais pas aussi bon que Peche Mortel... Belle découverte.

Espresso stout is quite fitting for this beer as it tastes heavily of dark roasted coffee. Rich flavour would pair well with rich vanilla ice cream. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From the bottle. Pours dark brown, tan head. Smells of coffee, molasses and dark dried fruit. Taste is coffee, chocolate and raisin tarts. A good stout, mellowed taste and not dry, like many stouts. Nice after dinner beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared with Minh while waiting for some poutine at La Banq. Pours a deep black body with thin brown lacing. Aroma is coffee and smooth roast. Mouthfeel is medium and smooth with notes of sweet coffee, roast and malt.

Bottle. Picked this up on my way home, was in the mood for a stout and got tempted by the espresso. Overall a nice light stout. Coffee flavor is not overpowering, bitter aftertaste that lingers more than I like. A peppery taste as well that I wasn't expecting, but good. Certainly not my favorite stout but I will be a repeat buyer to mix things up in my repertoire. And it's Canadian brew, good job guys! I'll be watching for other beers from you in my local SAQ. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
