Commercial Description:
Hearty northern people love a hearty stout beer. We've teamed up wtih Yukon's famous Midnight Sun Coffee Roaster to create this special blend. Originally developed for "Bean Queen" Zola Dore in a small batch kettle system by Yukoner Mitt Stehelin, we've retained the artisan qualities of this unique, unfiltered brew. The robust taste of this hearty stout starts with the smooth glide of real espresso and finishes with a dry chocolatey malt flavour. Why the big bottle? You'll love it so much, you'll want to share it with a friend, or not!

[813-20071104] 1L. Coffee malt and dark roast aroma. Dark black brown body with a medium-lasting foamy brown head. Dark coffee malt flavour has a sweet roasted dark chocolate undertone. Full body has a dry finish. Nice stout.

Taster at Bieres et Saveurs in Chambly. The color is a dark black with a nice tan head. The taste is very strong of espresso and chocolat with the taste and aroma of malt. there is some bitterness that just adds to the pleasant taste of this beer.

Bottle provided by kmweaver. Dark brown/black body with a small tan head. The nose is coffee, light molasses, roast and chocolates. The flavor is milk chocolate, molasses and coffee. Medium/full body is soft and creamy with light carbonation.

Light aroma from such a dark stout. I didn’t pick up any noticable malt from this beer at all. I wouldn’t call the cofffee overpowering, but there doesn’t seem to be foundation for a really good stout. It get points for tasting like coffee though.

Black, tan fizzy head. Nose was full of wet espresso ground notes and hints of MilkyWay bars. Dark roasted coffee flavors fade into chalky bitter chocolate tones. Light bodied, moderate carbonation, lightly bittersweet finish. Not bad if you want a caffeine buzz. Thanks for sharing kmweaver...

1L bottle, courtesy of presario. Thanks, Trevor! Pours a dark brown color; cocoa-colored head with patchy lacing. Dense, well-roasted coffee and baker’s chocolate in the aroma. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: coffee and bitter chocolate; very well-roasted; drinkable, filled-out stout. Medium, dry chocolate and roasted coffee finish.
