Oeil : noire, mousse beige; nez : torréfaction, huile d’olive; bouche : ne suit pas le nez, âcre, équilbre caramel torréfaction, finale de café « ordinaire » enrobé de caramel, corps moyen, légère amertume Nekronos (2261), Xalapa, Mexico Sep 15, 2006 VEyr good one, this is the kind of beers I enjoy. BUt that next day you do not want to hear about. Very coffe alike tastes. Strong in taste and in aroma. Good foam somewhat brown. Ughsmash (3983), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Aug 31, 2006 1L bottle. Poured a clear, very deep brown with a tall, well-retained toffee/beige head and some nice lacing... just beautiful! Nose carried an immense roasted malt character... full of freshly-ground espresso beans and dark chocolate... woodiness and earth round it out. Flavor was of deep and rich roasted espresso and dark chocolate... coffee and earth bitterness rode around the tongue and through the long espresso finish. Full, rich, and roasty on the palate with well-placed bitterness. Excellent brew! Aubrey (2773), Denver, Colorado, USA Aug 22, 2006 Deep and dark with a nice and frothy, tan head. Great mouthfeel; smooth and rich and creamy. Big dark chocolate and coffee, with sprightly nips of molasses. Healthy amount of bitterness balanced things out well. Muscular, yet suave. Good stuff. BeerandBlues2 (3201), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Aug 7, 2006 Bottle from presario. Pours opaque with a small foamy tan head. Aroma is dark roasted chocolate and caramel malt (cardboard, straw), yeast (earth, dark dough), fruit (prune) and hints of burnt toast.
